"I can't believe it!" the Shadow shouted. "They actually fell into the trap! Caught, caught at last!" It swept through the hall and into a room, where Helix lay motionless. Helix, it thought, the boy! The boy that escaped Gildias! The Shadow's anger seemed to attack Helix as it stared at him. "No matter! He will not wake, or cause trouble." That was what the Shadow thought, and it was true. The true troublemakers would be Quad and Quinn.
Quad squinted through the white light, as Helix had done so long ago. He reached out to rub his eyes, but realized that he was bound to a chair. he struggled for a moment, but realized it was pointless. This is the Shadow, not some stupid agent. He reached down into his boot and pulled down a small device. He pressed it upon his cuffs and released. With a small pop! the cuffs unlocked.
Quad rubbed his wrists, looking at the red marks around them. Sighing, he stood up. He turned and unlocked the door. He silently pushed it open and peeked out. A lone guard. He crept out and shut the door. The guard was a robot, a fairly new model. Quad crept up to him, reaching out to snap a cord. As his fingers closed around the wire, the guard whirled around and knocked Quad unconscious.
Quinn stood in his cell, cuffs off. He knew that there must've been a hidden camera, so he only had a few minutes. Unlocking the door, he stepped out. He snuck through the hall avoiding the guard, he had once tried to attack a guard, but got ambushed. Breathing softly, he stepped into another hall, and looked into the eyes of a robot, holding his father's limp body in his hands.
"Quad!" he gasped as the robot tossed Quad into the hall. Anger filled Quinn as he raced toward the guard. The robot sent a metal hand flying at him, but he was too fast. Grabbing the robots arm, he reached under the plating and broke a wire. He released the arm and stepped back, expecting a big reaction. Instead, a finger fell and the menacing voice of the Shadow filled the hall.
"Did you really think that it would be that easy? You still have a lot to learn." Guards surrounded him. Quad. He thought Breaking off the Robot's head, he ran toward the limp body of his father. Slapping Quad in the face, his father woke.
Quad was quick to his feet. Spinning around, he faced the robots, his back against Quinn. "So this is how our escape ends huh?" Quinn asked.
"No. This is how my escape ends," he replied. "Go get Helix and Adenine, then leave. If I am not at the entrance, the go." Quinn nodded silently. He didn't like leaving his father back one bit, but he understood the reasoning.
They moved toward the hall where Quad had been, he had seen Helix and Adenine get pushed there. Breaking through their ranks, Quad and Quinn sprinted down the hall.
"I'll hold them off!" Quad yelled. "You get them!" Quinn yanked a pipe from the wall and tossed it to Quad. Then he turned his back and ran through the hall. Arriving at the first door, he opened it. Inside, an agent sat bound to a chair. Quickly releasing him, he said, "Go help Quad hold off the robots!" Then he left to go to the next door. As he opened the door, he saw the woman officer, the one who had come from the plane. He moved from door to door, releasing all the captives. He gave them all the same directions: Go help Quad. Then he found Adenine on the floor, red lines of blood covering her body.
Again. It was falling apart. First with Gildias, now with itself. The captives were getting away. It was time to take matters into it's own hands. Walking out of the small room, the Shadow strode out into the hall. The light was blinding at first, due to the blackness of the room. Unsheathing two black daggers, the Shadow came upon the fight. The robots cleared a path as it moved through.
