There are far worse things than having to deal with your ex-boyfriend's little sister or your older brother's ex-girlfriend. But that's something Karada Iokawa and Shoko Nogami have to learn the hard way when a magic wishing stone inexplicably grants Karada's wish to be older—and does it by stealing the years from Shoko! Now Shoko, who's already graduated and studied overseas, is Karada's age, just about to enter junior high school. Meanwhile Karada must suddenly face the real facts about what being grown up entails. And just to make a bizarre situation even more awkward, there's the issue of how to handle their existing romantic interests!
Characters and Voice Actors:
- Main:
Karada Iokawa
Karada is a cheerful young girl who is about to enter her first year of junior high school. Her parents passed away when she was two years old, and has since lived together with her older brother, Hiro. She looks younger than she really is and wishes to grow up faster, due to hating being treated like a child. She has also learnt how to cook and do house chores herself, due to her not wanting to worry Hiro. Her friend and classmate, Tetsuya, seems to have feelings for her.
Spoiler:
She doesn't know that Hiro is not her real brother.
- Fujimura, Ayumi (Japanese)
- Park, Seon Yeong (Korean)
Hiro "Hiro-nii" Iokawa
Hiro is a young man who was once Shōko's boyfriend, but who inexplicably left her to take care of Karada, who he seemingly greatly cares about. He also studied abroad, with Shōko, which is how he met her.
He works in a pharmacy.
Spoiler:
It is later revealed that he isn't Karada's older brother, but a relative's son. He only met her for the first time at her parents' funeral, and prior to that he never thought of her as his sister. He thought that he would return to America right after the funeral, but he couldn't leave her alone.
- Hino, Satoshi (Japanese)
- Pyo, Yeong Jae (Korean)
- Yu, Dong Gyun (Korean)
Shouko Nogami
Shouko is a young woman who has just recently returned from overseas in America. She first meets Karada at the shrine that contained the fated wishing stone. She used to be Hiro's girlfriend, whom she met while in America and it seems that they were very close. Hiro told her that he would return right after the funeral, but she waited for months and then she recieved a letter saying he would not be coming back. Also, she did not know that Hiro had a younger sister.
- Itou, Shizuka (Japanese)
- Choi, Mun Ja (Korean)
- Supporting:
Tetsumasa "Tetsu" Amino
Tetsu is Karada's classmate and one of her closest friends. Tetsu is quite tall, joking that he is sometimes mistaken for a high school student. It is implied that he likes Karada - when Karada "went missing" after she became older, he ran all over town to find her.
In the manga his role is much bigger than the anime, and his relationship with Karada more problematic.
Spoiler:
(Manga)
Shortly after she turned into an adult, Tetsu tried to make Karada give her a hand job. This scars her horribly, and the two don't talk to each other for a long time after. It's for this reason that he wishes to find the wishing stone so that Karada can return to being a kid again. He does this with the aid of Shouko, the only person who talks to him after the incident.
