Anakulos
Chaos came to visit the next morning. She was sitting in our small lounge, tending to the fire and humming a melody to herself.
"Good morning." Nyssa murmured from the couch.
I peaked outside and saw that the moon was only halfway through it's cycle of the sky. Maximos yawned as he joined us and took a seat besides Nyssa.
"Why have you woken us so early, your majesty?" I asked and propped myself up on the armrest.
Chaos hummed to herself for a little longer, until the fire sparked and roared to life.
"If you feed the fire enough, it will start. Feed it too little, it will die. Feed it too much, it will destroy and devour." She muttered while staring off into the flames.
"You are absolutely right." Maximos replied and Nyssa went to hit him, but she was stopped when Chaos spoke again.
"You will understand when the time comes." She said. "In the mean time, how are you all?"
Maximos grinned. "Fantastic. The Romans were attacked the other day, and the campers training was cancelled because someone put crocs inside the Aphrodite cabin."
"Great. Anyway, I have come to inform you three that End is nearing. He has revived the lord of time, Kronos himself." She explained. "Consult the Oracle. I am forbidden by ancient laws to give you anymore information. Good luck, my heroes."
Her form flickered and she was gone, the fire the only sign that she had actually been there.
"That was abrupt." Maximos commented. "Well, I'm off to bed." He got up, pushing Nyssas legs off of him and heading down the hall to his room.
"Goodnight, Anakulos." Nyssa yawned and followed after Maximos.
"Goodnight." I murmured after her.
The moon reflected off the surface of the water, gliterring peacefully. I opened the door of our cabin and stepped out into the grisp night air, heading down to the sand and kicking my shoes off. The sand was rough against my bare feet and the slight breeze made my hair dance. For the first time in a long time, I was calm.
Then I notcied the figure wading in the shallows of the sea.
I knew instantly who it was and guilt settled on me. I had attacked him after all. Chaos would kill me if she knew I'd fought a god. I did the only thing I deemed necessary and headed over to him.
"Poseidon." His head turned in my direction and I saw his anger flash in his eyes.
I was glad it was night and that my hair was loose, effectively covering my face from his scrutinizing eyes.
"I apologise for earlier today." I said and he turned to stare out at the horizon once more, only giving me a grunt in reply.
"Where did you get the sword?" His voice was raspy. I could tell he'd been thinking about it all day.
"Your son dug it out from under a pile of weapons. Why? What is the significance of it?" I already knew the answer, but I wanted to hear him tell me of the son he betrayed.
"The sword hasn't been seen in over thirty years. It was the only thing left of my son-"
"The one you betrayed?" I cut him off and his head hung in shame.
"Yes. Perseus Jackson. Two time hero of Olympus turned traitor." My eyes squinted at the title. "Years ago, he was accused of treason, banished to the depths of Tartarus for it."
"He is dead then?"
"No. He escaped." Poseidons voice turned cold. "When my brother heard if it, he ordered the council to hunt him down. To kill him. We couldn't afford a demigod to live with such power. So we did as my brother commanded, hunted the boy for days on end, when we finally caught up to him."
"Did you kill him?" Once again, I already knew the answer, but seeing him suffer to tell me was entertaining.
"No. He knocked us all unconscious and was gone without a trace the next morning. Nowhere to be seen or heard from ever again."
The sand around my feet dampened and I looked down to see water lapping at my feet, inviting me in. I fought against it and the small waves slowly dispersed.
"What a tragic fate," I said into the silent and looked up. Zoës constellation lightly up the sky. The Huntress pulled back her bow and an arrow flew through the sky, straight to the horizon. "for such a tragic hero."
I left Poseidon to his thoughts and headed back to our cabin. Carefully opening the door as to not wake my comrades. I tiptoed to my room and sprawled out over the mattress, before sleep overtook me and I dozed off.
The pain in my left eye was insufferable, a searing pain reaching from my forehead to my cheekbone. My head was clutched in my hands and I rocked back and forth, whimpering.
Zeus had struck me with his Master Bolt, then thrown me into Tartarus like yesterdays news.
I cried out as pain erupted on the left side of my face. I tried to keep the screams in, but eventually they rolled out of my body, causing my voice to go hoarse from screaming. My breathing was uneven and hurt my lungs with every inhale.
Before Zeus threw me down here, he made me immortal so I could suffer for all eternity.
Every inch of my body was in pain, wether physical or emotional it hurt bearly as much. The feeling of Riptide cutting through my skin was branded into my brain. The trident piercing my back. The way the heavens opened up. Zeus throwing his Bolt and pain erupted through me again.
The shadows shifted and a figure stepped out of them. He looked down at me with pity in his eyes.
"Pathetic." He muttered and hoisted me up by the back of my shirt. "Hold yourself together, boy. They'll eat you alive."
His face was a black vacuum, reaching out for the soul I no longer possessed.
"Come." He grunted and walked off. I ignored the pain in my...everything and followed after Tartarus, Primordial of the Pit.
