Avalon

This might be a dream, Avi. It is impossible for him to like you.

I wished my stupid thoughts would shut up now. I better pinch myself to wake up from this impossible dream. I shut my eyes tightly as I began to pinch myself so hard, I nearly cut my own skin.

"Avi, what the actual fuck are you doing? You're holding up the line!" Asher pushed me from behind. As I opened my eyes I wasn't facing the ceiling of my bedroom, yet I was facing a very annoyed lunch lady in front of me.

"Are you going to get something or not? People are piling up at the back!" the lunch lady, which I can recall her name was Belinda was shouting at me already.

I turned around to see my best friends and other people almost giving me complaining stares. I shot them back with an apologetic smile.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll just have a carbonara and a diet coke."

As the tray with food was handed to me, I quickly looked for table and sat. My best friends rushing over seconds later with their own pile of food.

"Sooooo, Avi," Asher began while she munched on her carrots. "any clue on who that lad might be?"

"Um, no, actually." I lied, throwing my french fries pack that I just ate all up at the nearest bin.

"It could be anyone. Azenith has a lot of boys in her class. It could even be Harry." Wednesday winked at me. I blushed at her wild guess.

Yep, it's him, Wens.

"I really don't know." I lied again.

I wasn't really used to lying and it surprised me that they weren't suspicious of me. It's a good thing thy probably didn't hear me mention that "his name has an HS on it" phrase. My best friends are really smart (God, especially Asher) when it comes to guessing games. It took me by surprise how they were so slow at this one.

Suddenly, the school bell rang for the senior year college students to have their lunch break with us. Oh no.

"Well, I guess your loverboy would be here in a minute, huh, Avi?" Venice teased me while Asher and Wednesday gave me the widest grins. I just rolled my eyes at them, little did they know that the lad they've been talking about is the curly lad with evergreen eyes, that for all I know eats a lot of bananas for lunch.
