(Y/N)'s POV
"So, Thirlwall," the guard says "Your parents have been notified of your offense, and you'll see them in a couple of days at court. Also, you and your friends have been allocated a cell together at the court, so you'll be transferred there in a few hours."
"Thanks," I say "Is there any chance that I could talk to them- my friends, before we're moved?"
"Nope," he says, before moving to the next cell - Jesy's one
"Might as well use the loo now," I mutter to myself "While no-one's watching me."  I walk to the shiny metal toilet, trying not to breath through my nose "Nope. Abort mission. Abort, abort."
"What the hell're you doing in there?" Jesy calls
"I'm being annoyed about the fact that the loo smells like shit - literally." I say "I wouldn't recommend trying to use it."
"Shut up!" the guard yells at us
"See you in a bit, Jes," I whisper through the wall. Upon hearing no reply, I figure out that Jesy must not have been able to hear me, and I sit on the disgusting mattress laid on the floor.

Jesy's POV
"Hey guys," I say wearily as I'm pushed into the cell at the court.
"Hi Jes,"

"'Ello,"
"Hi there,"

"You alright?" Lauren asks me
"Yeah," I say "Aside from the fact that my mum's gonna kill me."
"Nah, she won't," (Y/N) says "We can just say that you were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time, and that you didn't smoke anything."
"Nah," Dinah says "Not gonna work; they'll test our pee."
"True," Cher says "But we can say that it was peer pressure."
"What about your own mums though?" I ask "Won't they 'kill' you too?"
"Nope." (Y/N) says "Mam's generally pretty forgiving."
"Yeah," Lauren says "My parents are generally pretty OK with bad stuff I do. Kind of."
"My mum and dad are sort of.. Meh, about me getting into trouble too." Cher says
"Mom and dad do get annoyed, but not too annoyed, if you know what I mean." Dinah comments "Jes, you'll be fine."

(Y/N)'s POV
DISCLAIMER: I have no idea how the fuck trials work

"Lloyd, Hansen, Thirlwall, Nelson and.. Yauregwui?"
"Jauregui," Lauren grunts
"Yeah, yeah." the guard says "You guys need to come through now."
As we walk into the court room, I notice heaps of familiar faces - my family, Jesy's family, Dinah's family, Cher's family, Lauren's family, Bread, who's sitting at the plaintiff's table, and his posse, who are in the witness box - even though they didn't actually witness it, and Leigh-Anne and Perrie, which surprises me.
"Cher, look," I point discreetly at Perrie "What's she doin' here?"

"I dunno," Cher says
"Quiet please," the judge says as we all sit down at the defendant's table. Our lawyer, a woman called Deborah, who for some reason seems slightly familiar, is sitting with us.

"Don't worry guys," she whispers "I'll get you out of this; I've never lost a case, and I don't plan on doing so today."

"Defendants and attorney, please rise." the judge says. "Names, please."
"Dinah Jane Hansen,"
"Jessica Nelson,"
"Cher Lloyd,"
"(Y/N) Thirlwall,"
"Lauren Jauregui,"
"Deborah Thornhill-Pinnock." (I know that her last name is actually just Thornhill, but it's just easier(?))
"Oh," I mutter "She's Leigh-Anne's mam."

"Where were you on Thursday the 13th of July?" the judge asks
"Let me handle this," Deborah mutters to us "The girls were at the Thirlwall residence."
"Who can confirm this?" The judge asks
"The Thirlwall family, the Lloyd family, the Nelsons, the Hansen family, and the Jaureguis, my daughter Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards; Officer Edwards' daughter, and myself."
"The named, with the addition of Alexander Edwards, and excluding Deborah; please make your way down to the witness box."
"Objection," Daniel, Bread's lawyer, stands up "I have three witnesses, along with my client, who all believe the girls were on the other side of town."
"Defendants, you may sit. Plaintiff, attorney, and witnesses, rise." Bread, his posse, and Daniel all stand up
"They-" Bread starts
"Wait until I've asked you a question." the judge says "Plaintiff and attorney, names?"
"Bradley Simpson,"
"Daniel Thompson."
"Witnesses, names?"
"Connor Ball,"
"Tristan Evans,"
"James McVey."
"Witnesses, where were you on the 13th of July?"
"We were at Conno-"
"Shuddup, James." Connor punches him "We were walking past the bookshop."
"Blackwell's bookshop," Tristan adds
"Thank you," the judge says "You may sit down. Bradley, what did you see the girls doing?"
"Well, uh, I walked down the side of the bookshop 'cos I thought, um, that there was a, um, weird smell. They weren't really doing anything, but they had been smoking weed."
"Do you have evidence to prove this?"
"Bradley could smell the marijuana quite clearly." Daniel says "And his parents say that he stank quite badly when he arrived home."
"Did anyone else notice the smell?"
"No," Brad says "It had mostly worn off by the time I talked to anyone afterwards."
"So," the judge says "The potent smell of marijuana had worn off of your clothes by the time that you'd reached your friends again."
"No," Daniel says "The boys all had blocked noses."

"That's quite a coincidence," the judge notes "You may sit. Defendants' witnesses, please stand. Ms Thirlwall-"
"It's Badwi," My mam says "Norma Badwi."
"Sorry, Ms Badwi; what were you doing on the 13th?"
"(Y/N) and Jade each had some friends from school over. We all had lunch together, and then they all went off to (Y/N) and Jade's rooms."
"Who's Jade?" the judge asks, and Jade puts up her hand
"Me, sir." she says "I'm (Y/N)'s sister."
"Who did you have over on Thursday?"
"Leigh-Anne and Perrie," she says nervously
"That's it?"
"Yes."
"Dinah's guardian - do you recall Dinah leaving the house for lunch on Thursday?"
"Yes," Milika and Gordon say in unison
"Alexander. Where did you arrest these girls?"
"Just on the corner of Samson Road and South Street."

"It says here that the Thirlwalls live three streets away," the judge says "Norma, why were the girls running as fast as they could away from the direction of Blackwell's bookshop?"
"I'd sent them to go to the corner shop to get a bottle of milk. They must have been playing some sort of game, which would be why they were running."

I honestly just couldn't be arsed to write any more of this chapter, so Part 2 of this will be out in a fortnight.
