Part 10-Callous

They turned around to see two cats, a black and a blonde striped cat, one of them smiling at them. Mabel looked at the blond cat suspiciously. The one eye was oddly familiar. She gasped once she realized who it was.

Mabel: but-but we destroyed-...but-

Bill: Hmmm apparently not!

There was a brief moment of silence between the two. Bill swished his cat tail while looking up at Mabel. Mabel directed her sight toward Pacifica who was covering her face from pure shame.

Bill: A lot has happened while you were gone! Welcome back!~

Mabel: What are you doing to Pacifica?!

Bill: Oh me? I'm not doing anything to Pacifica. I'm just tagging along while I waited for Dipper to return! Meet my new friend Callous!

Callous' growl revealed his incredibly sharp teeth. Mabel's spine tingled at the sight of the sharp toothed cat, while Pacifica continued to cover her eyes. Pacifica hugged onto Mabel tightly, feeling guilty for bringing her into this mess. She wanted to cry, for this could ruin her reconciling with Mabel after all of these years.

Bill: You like my nickname for him? I think it suits him! I dunno if he likes it but at the same time I don't really care.......Naaaaaaaaaaaah I think he likes it!

Callous opened his red eyes and looked directly at Pacifica. Bill had a bag of popcorn and was ready for the drama.

Callous: You...broke your promise.

Pacifica: I couldn't take it anymore! This whole deal is nonsense and my family can't take it! I can't take it!

Callous: You...want to remain rich.

Pacifica: I-I know but-

Callous: And alive.

Pacifica: I know but... Look, you can take my money away alright?? Just leave Mabel alone!

Callous had a deep but haunting voice as he spoke to her as if it had a slight echo. However, he was very calm which gave Mabel even more of an uneasy feeling.

Mabel: I just want to know what this is all about!

Bill: Gladly! Back in the lovely year of 2013 after we fought, aha good times...

He said sarcastically.

Bill: After you and Pine Tree left, Pacifica made a deal with my friend Callous over here! In order to keep her riches and her family from losing everything , aaaand I guess to keep me from attacking earth again since I wanted a piece of this, she promised to bring you and Dipper back here so we can destroy you!

Mabel: Yooooou WWWHAT!?

Bill: How romantic!

Mabel: Pacifica!

Her heart suddenly felt broken.

Mabel: I literally dropped out of school just to come visit you! I...I thought..

Pacifica: Look Mabel, that is NOT the full story!

Bill: Girly, what more is there to say? You threw Mabel under the bus so you can keep your life.

Pacifica was sweating and looked sharply at Bill.

Pacifica: Well I couldn't have you take over the world and mess things up again! That was your part of the deal!

Bill: We didn't shake on it!

Pacifica growled while Bill laughed at her expense. She began to stutter, but it was clear that she had a loss for words. She looked toward Mabel then back to Callous.

Pacifica: I want out of this deal! NOW!

Callous: You.. know the consequences of backing out...correct?

Pacifica: YES! YES! JUST TAKE MY MONEY AND LEAVE!

She hastily took off her birthday crown and threw it straight onto the floor directly in front of Callous. Callous calmly looked at the crown then back up toward Pacifica.

Callous: That's... not all...

Pacifica: Look... Is there a way in which I don't have to die?-

Callous: There is not...

Pacifica: (crying) Please-

Callous: For centuries... I have kept your family rich.... And your family did not pay your price for this generation. You asked me for a favor... and that was to spare your family...under one condition... Unless you pay that condition, I can not help you...

Pacifica was tearing up heavily. Her hands were fixed into tight fist and she was trying to pull herself together. Mabel was nervous without Dipper being here to construct a plan.

Callous: You... were a nice girl..for a family like this... your change of heart and your love for her is truer than your family's heroic legacy. However, your family made a deal.. Without regards for their descendants... You may blame your ancestors...

Bill: (excited) DESTROOOY HER!

He said clapping. Pacifica faced Mabel and grabbed her hands. Mabel was hesitant to hold her hands back but then gave in and held her hands tighter.

Pacifica: This isn't fair...

Callous: I know, dear...But your family made a choice.

His paws began to glow a red hue and he slowly ascended into the air. As Mabel watched, she desperately tried to think of a way to free Pacifica from all this.
