"Tessa!" A voice screamed. I bowed off the bed and onto the floor. My stomach heaved and yesterday's dinner came up my throat. Lunarìa rubbed soothing circles into my back. I panted as my palms heated. "Tessa, don't you do it." Lunarìa said in her most stern voice. I turned and placed my hands into her palms. They hissed and she winced. For second, the fire still flowed to my palms, but Lunarìa froze my hands and I sighed in relief.
"Open your eyes." She commanded. I did. "Have I gone blind?" I questioned. She chuckled. "No, silly. Its three am. Come back to bed and sleep." I obeyed. Soon, my eyes drifted closed and I had the same dream all over again. Eventually I gave up sleep and stayed awake for the rest of the night.

"Hey, Tessa, you okay?" Rachel, my friend asked. I jolted awake. Nikki glanced at Rachel and sighed. "Did you not get any sleep again?" I looked down at my food. The cafeteria was full of students, and my friends had to shout for me to hear them. Nikki flipped her blonde hair or her shoulder and Rachel's sighed.
I sighed and nodded. "Okay, I didn't get any sleep last night either. But I'm fine!" I argued. "You are not fine." Nikki said and crossed her arms over her flat chest. "Yeah, shouldn't your mother be helping you with this?" Rachel asked. "She is helping me!" I snapped. Lunarìa did try to help me with my sleeping problem, she just didn't know how. It was at this time that Lunarìa decided to walk into the cafeteria. Everyone turned to her. Even though she pretended to be ugly, she looked phenomenal in her too big pink sweatshirt and blue jeans. Her Converse squeaked on the bright shiny floor.
Her nose was buried in a book and her blonde ringlets were brushed into a perfect ponytail. Her thick famed fake glasses did little to hide the beauty her ice blue eyes held as she looked up. "Why'd it get so quiet?" She asked, her voice barely a whisper. I rolled my eyes. Lunarìa tilted her head to the side as she surveyed the cafeteria. Okay the first day, I could see why people went crazy over her. But threw weeks later and still they stop when she comes in??
Lunarìa walked to the lunch line and when she came out, some dude yelled out, "hey do you wanna sit with us?" Lunarìa shook her head politely and walked to the very back table. I let my eyes follow her. She took a small bite of her sandwich as she turned the page in her book. She laughed quietly at something we read and bit her lip. I groaned and set my head down on the table. You know that feeling when your siblings embarrass you, but no one knows except you because only you feel it???
That's exactly what I felt.
"Why are you staring at Lunarìa like that?" Nikki's nasally voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Huh? Like what?" I asked innocently. "Like you know her or something. You don't know her, right? Because of anyone's going to be friends with her it's me." Lunarìa and I pretended that we didn't know each other because we looked nothing alike a she thought in would be fun for me to be the popular girl for once.
And don't get me wrong, I was a bit popular. Several people sat with me at lunch, but they were all stunned by Lunarìa. She didn't know how to downplay her look like I did. Oh wait you guys have no idea what I look like.
Picture a girl about 5'4 with caramel skin and long straight dark brown hair. She is a bit chubby, but the guys here call it "thick". She has a sorta small waist with large hips. This girl has large red eyes with a ring of ice blue around them. She has plump lips and a round nose and small hands.
Yeah so nothing like my sister.
She has pale skin and pale blonde hair that she dyes blonde and and pale blue eyes. She was skinny, still had meat on her bones and " all the right junk in all the right place" as Nikki quotes from Megan Trainor. Everything about her screams cold. That's why she was born super pal and I was born with a caramel skin tone. The fire that heated my veins caused my skin to darken and -
"Hello!" Nikki's nasally voice screeched and I looked at her. "I was asking why you were looking at her again!" I narrowed my eyes at her. She pressed her back into the chair, fear entering her eyes. "I'm sorry!" She said and looked at her lap. A finger tapped my shoulder. "Can I sit here?" Rachel and Nikki's mouths dropped open. I rolled my eyes and snapped, "what?" Lunarìa smiled at me. "Can I sit here." It wasn't a question. "Sure, whatever. I don't care." I turned my attention back to my untouched food.
Lunarìa sat in the chair next to me and said, "my name's Lunarìa. What's yours?" I sighed in exasperation. Her eyes danced with amusement at my little act. "Tessa." "Cool. I like your sneakers." I fought the smile rising to my face. Lunarìa had took pictures of my cat, Tessie before she died and then glued them to a pair of white Converse. I nodded my thanks. "This is Nikki, Rachel, Bradley, Hope, Jennifer, Lizzy, Sori, Jacob, Allen, Michael, Michelle and Kattie."(No not cat- tee, kay- tee!)
" Wow, you really have a lot of friends. How do remember their names?" I rolled my eye. My sister blinked her's and a ring of faint red was suddenly visible around the pupils. I warned her with my eyes. She smiled softly at Bradley. He blinked, totally mesmerized by her beauty. Her grin widened. Hope waved her hand in front of Bradley's face over and over.
Lunarìa opened her book again and began reading. "What book are you reading?" Rachel asked, desperate for attention from my sister. "Um, Valerian." She said in a quiet, shy voice. I spooned some beans into mouth as Lunarìa kept trying to talk to me. I didn't really answer her, I only grunted. My shirt shifted as I stretched out of boredom. Lunarìa stopped talking, pretending to be hurt. "Hey, Lunarìa," Nikki called and reached for my sister's arm. She reacted by smacking her arm away. "Ow!" Nikki cried. I knew what she was feeling. One day, when I made the mistake of calling my older sister ugly, when we were younger and she punched. It felt like someone hit a large rock in my nose. And it was ice colder. My nose immediately froze and if I didn't have that fire in my veins, my whole body would've frozen entirely.
Nikki cradled her arm, which now had ice on it. "What the hell?" She breathed. "What did you do? My arm feels all tingly now and-" She froze as she saw the ice. "I. . .must have gotten some of my smoothie on you. The ice part." Lunarìa tried. "Yeah right, what the heck did you do?" Nikki snarled. "Nikki shut up for once!" I snapped. "She has a smoothie right there. See?" Nikki looked over my shoulder. "Oh," she said quietly. Lunarìa smiled at me. "Thank you," she said. I grunted in response. "So, I was wondering if-" "Nikki!" I yelled. I could tell Lunarìa was getting overwhelmed with all of the attention from Nikki, she wasn't really good with people.
Nikki looked at her lap again and sighed sadly.
***Hey peoples! How are you today? I chose this song because because Contessa is jealous of her older sister and how she is still beautiful even though she tries to be ugly so her sister can be popular.
I feel like I can just hear her singing this in her head, can hear her silently cursing her sister. That's why I like this song. Because whenever I do something cool, one of my friends will steal all the attention from me because they're not really one of real friends.
So what do you think of Nikki? Total bitch? Or just overexcited?
I think of her as a total bitch. Write what you guys think in the comments. Adios, dudes and dudettes!😘
