Elena looked at Klaus whose eyes were fixed on the road. They had been driving for several hours now on their way to a witch who Klaus thinks may be responsible for the hex. Elena didn't bother asking Klaus if they were near yet, she knew he wouldn't answer. Instead, she looked out the window at the houses they zoomed past, telling herself stories of the people she remembered living there. Eventually, all the houses blurred together and she couldn't tell the houses apart.

After several hours awake in the car and several naps, Klaus pulled up to a Victorian era looking house. They got out and Klaus kicked the door down, obviously furious. They found the witch who was confused by the hex and claimed to have no idea who Klaus was talking about. When Klaus lunged at her, the witch did a spell and made him drop on the ground in pain. Elena tried to save her man but she found herself stuck to the spot, only able to call out to the hybrid. It was a few minutes later that Elijah appeared behind the witch, ripping her heart out from behind. Elena was wondering when Elijah would appear.

Even with the witch killed, the hex was still there. It would take a while for Klaus to kill down every witch and even if he succeeded, he would have killed every witch that existed.

Elena looked down at Klaus who was sleeping soundly next to her. His shirt was off, his stomach and ever growing hex was exposed. Elena could only think of one more witch that was worth the try. Her once best friend Bonnie Bennett. She had to try. Klaus was worth it.

Elena quickly wrote a note to Klaus telling him that she had something to do and that she would be home when it was done. Elena put the note on the nightstand and gave Klaus a lingering peck on his lips. Slipping quietly out of bed, Elena used her vampire speed to get dressed and headed out the door.

The drive to Mystic Falls was about 4 hours and Elena drove nonstop with fierce determination. Nothing had really changed from what Elena remembered. The people, the houses and businesses were the same.

Let's just hope her best friend haven't had a change of address.

When Elena got to Bonnie's house, she parked up in front and got out. She raised a hand to knock but before it could make contact, the door opened and a beautiful black skin woman appeared in front of her.

"Elena." The doppelgänger tried to read into the witch's tone but she couldn't tell if the witch was angry, surprised, or simply indifferent.

"Bonnie," Elena said, "Can I come in?"

The witch paused for a few seconds but then moved aside for Elena to come in. They walked into the living room and sat facing each other.

"You came here because you needed something right?" Bonnie's face looked almost hopeful.

Elena looked down, "yes. I need your help Bonnie. Klaus- Klaus had been hexed. We don't know by who and I need you to trace the hex."

Bonnie's face fell and for a few seconds she looked like she didn't know what to say or think. Then, a few seconds later, she looked angry, betrayed.
