"Somin wake up.", said Principal Han shaking me gently.

I slowly opened my eyes.

"...What time is it...?", I asked rubbing my eyes.
"It's almost 3 in the morning.", he said. "You should head home."
"...But what about Sohyun?"
"She's fine. You can visit her in a couple days."
"...Where's Jungkook?"
"He went to the bathroom but I think he's spending the night here."
"...I'll head home then..."

I got up from my chair and yawned. My eyes were still barely open and my vision was slightly blurred. Unsteadily, I started walking toward the hospital's exit but stumbled on my way there.

"Ow...", I said rubbing my ankle.

"Somin.", called Principal Han. "Why don't I take you home?"
"N-No I can walk home...", I said limping to the exit door.
"In that condition? No way."

Principal Han caught up to me and motioned for me to follow him. My ankle was in pain so I agreed to ride with him. As soon as I got in the car, I rested my head on the seat.

"Long day huh?", asked Principal Han starting the engine.
"...It felt like an eternity...", I muttered.
"I've noticed you have been under quite a lot of stress... Is everything alright?"
"To be fair... I don't even know... I thought my last year of high school would just go smoothly but it's been so hectic."
"You've got a lot of duties as President... I'm also assuming that you social life has been kinda rocky."
"...Is it that obvious?"
"Well... the whole hospital did hear you and Jungkook's argument earlier."
"Right...I forgot we fought..."
"If you need any advice, I'm here. I've experienced dating in high school so ask me anything."
"...Jungkook and I aren't even dating and yet we have so many problems... How can you read someone who sends mixed signals?"
"Part of the problem might be your lack of understanding."

I looked at Principal Han in confusion.

"Don't get me wrong Somin.", he said. "You're an excellent student and a good role model for your juniors. One thing I did notice about you, however is how stubborn you are."
"...I get that a lot...", I said quietly.
"You have strong personality and is very prideful, but that's not considered a bad thing. If you learn to control your emotions and find a way of empathizing with others, you'll understand how Jungkook feels."
"...I guess you're right."
"Relationships are difficult to maintain, but if both parties are willing to listen and talk to each other, everything will turn out fine. You both should be honest about how you feel."

My envy towards the attention Sohyun was getting got the best of me. Jungkook told me many times that he was doing the things he did for a reason but I didn't listen. After Principal Han dropped me off, I knew that I needed to talk to Jungkook with complete honesty.

-----------------

A couple days had passed and I planned on visiting Sohyun. I hadn't seen Jungkook since I was at the hospital so my attempts to talk to him failed.

Jino agreed he would go with me to see Sohyun since it'd be awkward if I came alone. We arrived at the hospital and a nurse took us to see Sohyun.

"You have some visitors.", said the nurse knocking on Sohyun's door.

The nurse opened the door and I saw Jungkook sitting by Sohyun. She had a blank expression and looked a little pale. Sohyun turned to me and her gaze was so stoic I couldn't read how she was feeling.

"...Is now a bad time to visit?", I asked.

Jungkook shook his head and stood up.

"Have a seat.", he said pointing to the chair he was sitting on.

I walked to the chair and Jino followed behind me but Jungkook stopped Jino from walking further.

"Maybe we should give them some space.", said Jungkook.

Jino gave Jungkook and annoyed look but turned around to walk out. Jungkook followed but deep down I didn't want to be left alone with Sohyun.

"So...", I said breaking the silence. "How are you feeling?"

Sohyun hesitated for a moment.

"...Good...", she said quietly.
"Are you hungry? Do you want me to get you anything?", I asked.
"...No..."

Sohyun then pulled up her blanket cover.

"...Are you cold? Did you want me to close this window-"
"Why are you being nice to me? Are you doing all this out of pity? If so, I don't need it."
"...I didn't mean to come off like that... Sorry."

I could feel the awkward tension yet again.

"...Why did you help me?", asked Sohyun.
"What do you mean?", I asked.
"...Why did you bring me here? I thought you didn't like me..."
"I mean, yeah I'm not fond of you, but I couldn't just let you die. If I left you in the bathroom I wouldn't be able to forgive myself."

Sohyun looked at me with a pained expression.

"...Get out...", she said quietly.
"What?", I asked.
"GET OUT.", yelled Sohyun with her eyes welling up.

I immediately stood up and rushed out of the room.

"Now's not the best time for a visit.", I said walking past the guys.

"Wait what?", asked Jungkook following me. "Somin where are you going?"
"Somin.", called Jino.
"I'm going home.", I said walking faster.

Jungkook grabbed my hand to stop me.

"Where are you going?", he asked.
"Home.", I said. "Sohyun got emotional so clearly she's not ready to see me. I must've said something wrong or was being too pushy with my questions. I should've just sat there quietly and asked when I knew she was ready for-"
"Somin. Relax. It's okay."
"It's not okay. Sohyun clearly isn't well and I must've triggered some reaction for her to snap at me like that."

Jungkook reached out and pet my head.

"It not your fault.", he said.

I looked at his hand and he immediately pulled it away.

"...Sorry...", he said.
"...It's alright...", I said looking at the ground.

--------------------

"Is everything alright?", asked Jino rushing into Sohyun's room.

"Sohyun!", yelled Jino rushing over to her.
