Two hours have passed since my mom left and I've been relaxing in my dorm while Ridley sketches in a drawing book.
"Hey Ridley?" I turn to face her.
"Yeah?" She answers but keeps drawing.
"You can call me Gray, if you'd like." I roll over to my back and look at the ceiling.
"Okay. Thanks...I guess." She brushes her hair out of her face.
"Of course." I smile and hop out of bed I take my phone off of my desk and put it in my pocket. I see Ridley out of the corner of my eye getting up and putting her drawing supplies in her desk drawer.
"Hey Gray." Ridley says and I turn around.
"What's up?" I smile at her.
"Want to wander around." She heads to the door.
"I'm incredible bored and we could get food or something." I pipe up and follow her out of the door.

"How long have you gone here?" I ask her while we walk through the hallway. Our lockers are right next to each other, so we stop there.
"This is my fourth year." She grins and opens her locker.
"Wow!" I smile and do the same. I put a few study books in there as well as a pen and pencil and then I shut the thin metal door.
"It's pretty great." She closes her locker and turns to me.
"It se-" I get cut off by a girls voice and I turn to see a darkish brown haired girl with soft brown eyes.
"Hi girls. What year are you going into?" The girl comes over to us and Ridley rolls her eyes. The girl stares at Ridley.
"Um, well I'm going into year eleven." I say and disregard Ridley. The girl seems nice!
"So am I. My twin brother is as well." She smiles at me.
"Well I hope to see you around...." I wait to see what her name is.
"Avalyn." She smiles and extenders her arm.
"Graylee." I shake her hand and then she waves and runs off to a boy with dirty blonde hair and deep brown eyes. As they walk away he puts his arm around her shoulder.
"Gray, she is a popular." Ridley turns to me.
"Okay. If she won't be mean to me, I won't be mean to her." I sigh and turn to her.
"Yes, that is her boyfriend. He can be a complete a** sometimes." Ridley rolls her eyes. "He's too much of a flirt?" I ask.
"Definitely." Ridley shakes her head. "I can't wait to see the new kids this year." She smiles and I smile back in anticipation.
"You've got one right here." I gesture to myself and we start to walk to a vending machine Ridley pulls out a dollar from her pocket and I do the same. She laughs and inserts the dollar to the machine. I hear a few dings when she pushes the buttons on the matching for a chocolate bar. It falls down and Ridley grabs it. I insert my dollar and press A1 for a bag of m&m's. It tumbles down into the slot and I grab it before receiving my 25 cents of change. Ridley grabs my hand and leads me to the courtyard. We sit at a wooden table.
"So."
"So what?" I smile to Ridley.
"We should get to know each other since we are roommates." Ridley smiles. She takes a bite of her chocolate bar. I open my bag of m&m's.
"Well, I have a younger sister named Kenna." I smile and toss some colored chocolates into my open mouth.
"And I have an older brother named Max." Ridley nods and takes another bite of her chocolate.
"Ri-I-I-dley!" I hear a mimicking voice comping from the boys dorm. Ridley rolls her eyes.
"Maxwell." She smirks and the boy; I assume to be her brother Max sits in between us.
"I heard my name." He giggles and twirls his hair, mimicking girls.
"Oh I was just telling my friend Graylee about you." She laughs and he turns to me.
"Well hello there Graylee. I'm Max." He smiles at me and extends his hand.
"Hello Max. Have you finished your mimicking?" I giggle and shake his hand.
"Have you finished your mimicking?" He says in a high pitched voice and then stops. "Of course I'm done mimicking." He rolls his eyes. Ridley and I laugh.
"MAX!" A voice yells and we turn to where it came from.
"RIVER!" Max yells and I cover my ears. Ridley smiles.
"Cmon we have to go prank the newbies!" Another voice yells.
"Okay I'm coming Cody!" Max rolls his eyes. "We'll talk later girlies." He winks and walks over to the boys.
