My earbuds drown out any noise in our dorm. The sky has turned a pinky orange, suggesting that the first day is tomorrow. I sigh and turn off the loud music. I roll up my earbuds and put them in my desk drawer. My clothing is comfortable, but I decide to change into my American themed pajamas. I grab them and make a dart towards the bathroom and change and brush out my messy hair. I notice Ridley stifle a laugh when I walk back into the room. I roll my eyes and catwalk to my bed.
"How fabulous Gray." She giggles.
"I know right?" I smile and ask what we do tomorrow.
"Well tomorrow is a free period in all of the classes, basically so people can meet other people, they can exchange phone numbers, and just ease into the first day." She shrugs. "It's nice" I nod my head and thank her while getting comfortable in my covers. First night at my new school. The sky isn't dark yet, and I realize I have forgotten to see Kenna. I hop out of bed and dart down the corridor and stairs to Kenna's room. She opens the door and hugs me.
"Hi Graylee!" She smiles and ushers me in.
"Hi Kenna!" I hug her and turn to her roommate "Hi Mollie!"
"Hi Graylee." She smiles.
"Kenna, how are you doing?" I ask her, moms orders!
"Great. I'll just text you okay?" I smile. She knows I can't come here every day.
"Thank you." I hug her one last time and go back up to my dorm. By now the sky is a dark purple so I slide into my covers and turn off the light, for Ridley does the same on her side of the room.
--------------
The bright sun shines through our window, awakening me for the big day ahead. I quickly jump out of bed and tidy it up. Rushing to my closet, I grab a purple tee shirt and jean shorts and purple converse and hurry to the bathroom to change. I throw it on and run back to my room. I fold my pajamas into the wardrobe and sit at my desk. I look in the mirror and put on a soft red lipstick and a soft purple eyeshadow and my black mascara. Ridley wakes up and yawns a hello and I wave to her.
"Good-" she sits up slowly"-Morning Gray."
"Good morning Ridley. I'm going to take some pictures in the courtyard." I smile at her and standing up while pulling my phone out of the charger.
"Sounds nice." She yawns as she makes her bed and I grab my camera." I'll meet you at breakfast."
"Okay Rids. See you there!" I walk out the door and down the short corridor to the stairs. I see girls giggling in the hallway at each other and I hide my smile as I walk down the staircase. I jog down the wooden steps and out the front entrance and into the crisp air. I close my eyes and take a breath of the morning air. England is beautiful, much north of South Carolina where I'm from, so it's cooler. I walk out to a bench and settle myself, gently opening my camera pouch and taking the sleek black camera out of it. I quickly turn it on and set it on the table while I take off the pouch and set it on the table. I loop the camera lanyard around my neck and walk over to the small flower garden. I kneel down in front of it and lean over. I focus on on a daisy and snap a photo with tons of blurry Daisy's behind it. I smile at the excellent photo. I stand up and walk over to a tree and lay down at the base. I look up and angle my camera lens upward, catching the sun coming through the branches filled with beautiful green leaves. I snap the photo with a grin and ease myself up. I walk back to the table and take my camera off my head. I put it in my pouch and carry it back up to the dorm. As I enter, I see Ridley has already left. I put my camera in my desk drawer and walk back out towards the dining hall.
----
As I enter the hall, I see my friends are already there. I hurry and grab a pancake and a glass of orange juice and head over to them. I sit in between Ash and Ridley. I smile at everyone.
"Hey Gray!" Max smiles.
"Hey Gray." Everyone else mumbles and continues on with their conversation.
"How was the photo shoot Graylee?" Ridley smiles at me while she cuts her pancake.
"It went very well. Thanks Rids." I smile back and cut my pancake into bits before taking a sip of my orange juice. I eat some of the pancake slices and it tastes delicious.
"Isn't it good." I hear a soft voice and my eyes widen and I lift my head to see Ash smiling at me. I quickly swallow my food.
"Yes it is, very good." I smile back at him. Ridley has turned her conversation to Liddy they are laughing. I guess I'm talking to Ash. I imaging myself blushing.
"It's my favorite breakfast here." He looks at my pancakes and takes a bite of his own which he folded like a taco. Luckily, it doesn't seem like I'm blushing.
"I haven't had any other breakfasts here so, I can't make my decision." I laugh after gulping my orange juice.
"Well, i'd be surprised if it wasn't this." He winks at me and I suppress a laugh.
Soon after our little conversation I finish my pancakes and take my plate and cup to the washing area and hand it to a girl with silvery blonde hair and walk quickly back to my table. The rest of breakfast period is dull, everyone talking to someone but me. When the bell rings I walk to my dorm and plug my phone in. In ten minutes, class starts and according to Ridley it is pretty boring.

All students walk to your first class immediately.
The intercom echoes as I look over my schedule to see that year eleven has math first. I walk quickly down the hall to classroom two, for my schedule says that is the room I'm in first, and enter to see students abuzz each sitting at a desk. I walk over to a desk in the back left corner and sit down, straitening out my books. Ridley and I looked over each others schedule and unfortunately, Math is not a subject we have together. I look at the board and apparently I'm in accelerated math. Great. The hard stuff. I sit twirling the end of my pencil around my desk being my annoyed self until a smiling face sits down next to me.
"Hello, Gray."
