Where the river rounded a corner
His shoe was untiedWhere the water roared into rapids
His shoe was untiedWhere the thunder echoed off high rocks
His shoe was untiedWhere the boy once refused to listen
His shoe was untiedWhere the good friend sounded alarms
His shoe was untiedWhere the river once dried up in June
His shoe was untiedWhere the words 'tie your shoe' go unheard
His shoe was to blameWhere the boy was saved by a friend
His shoe was untiedWhere the lesson of friendship was learned
His shoe was soon goneWhere the river was moving too fast
His friend was not wrongWhere the water was high he did stop
His friend held on tightWhere the shoe fell and drifted away
His good shoe did knot
