Steve Rogers - Captain America

"Uh oh." Clint said, glancing over his shoulder at Freya and the other female agent. She looked like she definitely had some Asian lineage (not to be racist or anything, just helping you visualize). She held a long, pale blue dagger in her hand.

"Uh oh? Why uh oh?" I asked as I glanced back worriedly at them.

"That's Agent Melinda May, also known as the Calvary." He explains. "She was the only agent ever capable of beating Natasha before Freya." He explains.

"Uh oh." I say nervously. I stand and run out from behind the cover of the table and slam my shield into the side of one of the agents' heads. He crumples to the ground, dropping his gun. I pick it up and take the safety off before shooting a round of bullets near the feet of the other agents, warding them off.

"Stop!" I yell, throwing the gun down. My friends, the agents, and even Director Fury pause. "We're all here for a common goal." I say, lowering my shield slightly. "To neutralize a world threat. But we just go about it very differently. There are two ways we can do this. The easy way, or the right way."

"And I choose the one that stops the threat the fastest." Fury says.

I glare at him. "And killing Loki is not the right way!" I exclaim. "Captain!" Fury yells back. "I don't have time for this. Agent May!" He yells, shifting his gaze behind me.

Dark haired Agent May lunges forward, catching Freya by surprise and tackling her to the ground. The leader of the defensive formation around Loki, moves forward, exchanging gun fire with both Natasha and Clint.

I run forward and knock out some of the agents near Fury with my shield. Tony is protecting Pepper from the gunfire and shooting down some agents wth his plasma barriers. Its hard to fight agents who are trying to either kill you or mortally wound you when you're trying to only knock them out. Plus these agents were all Level 7, just like Clint and Natasha, though obviously not as skilled.

I look around the room hastily. Where's Bruce?

I spot him hiding behind the bar, his skin turning slightly green as he struggles to keep the Hulk in. I run over to him, dodging gunfire and blocking the bullets with my shield. "Dr. Banner!" I yell over the noise.

"Go away!" He yells, his voice deeper and louder than normal. "I might not be able to control this!" He yells, struggling.

"No!" I turn suddenly, hearing Freya's voice scream over the chaos. I see her throw Agent May off her back and turn to sprint towards the the open terrace outside. May catches her ankle at the last second, sending her crashing to the ground.

Outside, the head agent is holding his bulky gun to Loki's temple. He's on his knees, head hung in.... What, shame? I dismiss the thought. Probably some last attempt to look remorseful, hoping the agent will spare his life. But from the hard look on the agent's face, it doesn't look like its doing him any good.

I throw my shield in a last attempt to stop the execution of an intergalactic war criminal.

I knew this world, this era was strange, and I'd end up doing some pretty strange things.... But not once did I ever think that saving Loki's life would be one of them.

But before the agent can fire his gun, or my shield can find its mark, a large explosion of light throws everyone off their feet. A large cone of multi colored light is funneling from the sky, concentrating in a circle right inbetween the agent and Loki.

I know from experiece that this cone of light heralds the arrival of an Asgardian.

I run over to Freya, and thrust my hand in front of her, holding my shield close to me. She grabs my hand and I help her up. She's panting slightly, but she flashes me a greatful grin as we watch the awe-inspiring events.

The cone of light disappeared suddenly, leaving a charred circle on the ground between Loki and the agent, both sprawled on the ground a few feet from where they had been standing.

In the middle of the charred circle, an asgardian knelt on one knee, a large shield covering almost their entire body from view.

Freya ran forward, and I followed her closely behind. "Do you think its a friendly?" I whispered to her as I held my shield tightly. "Not sure." Freya replied. She summoned a fireball in her hand, the flames crackling in her palm.

The bright light illuminated her face slightly as she said, "But its better to be safe than sorry."

The figure slowly stood, standing in the middle of the circle in a rigid stance.

Wearing silver and navy blue armor, and knee high boots that seemed to have protective silver shin guards. The warrior, in addition to the medieval style shield, held a long double bladed sword staff, one end pressed into the gravel outside firmly.

Dark eyes flashing, scanning the assembled team of Avengers, the various standing Shield Agents, and Director Fury, all poised to attack.

A silver helmet that covered most of the warriors face only revealed the eyes, nose, and mouth.

"Reveal thyself!" Thor's booming voice sounded behind me. I turned to see the God of Thunder, dressed in his battle armor, holding his hammer, ready to throw.

I adjusted the grip on my shield, positioning it to make it most convenient to throw. I rubbed the strap on the backside of the shield absentmindedly as I watched the warrior warily.

"I said reveal thyself!" Thor yelled.

I warrior gripped the top of the helmet and pulled it off roughly, letting it fall through their black gloved fingers.

The strong metal clanged loudly on the ground as the warriors' identity was revealed.
