Character-ology

Characters.

In our fandom our characters are usually wrestlers from WWE, NJPW, ROH, TNA, etc or they are OC's we have made up.

Before I go any further into the topic of Characters, I'm going to say something.

I hear a lot of people say "There are too many books using the shield boys" or "There are too many books with the Bellas/Paige/AJ Lee." Or "There needs to be more books using other members of the roster."

While that may be true, you can honestly disregard it all.

If people want a certain book done with certain characters they can either 1.request it or 2.write it themselves.

If you want to write a book using the shield boys then do that. If you wanna use someone that's not often used then do that. It's your book and nobody can tell you what it can and can't have.

Now with that being said, never be afraid of using characters that aren't used often. You never know who else is going to want a book written just the way you wrote it!!!

An honest example is me wanting more books with Naomi in it.

When I first got to wattpad there was two of them. Both of them were incomplete. Both had her shipped with her husband and she wasn't really the main character either.

So I think to myself, "This is nice. But this isn't what I want."

I knew she wasn't a popular character, and that's how I wanted to change some stuff.

I'm not saying I started some revolution of some shit cause I didn't, but I feel like the very moment I made CTSY, which has Naomi in it, I started to see more books pop up, ever so slowly, but they came. And now there's a lot more of them than there was before.

Sometimes it really only takes one person to start something and others will follow because once they've seen one person succeed they believe they can as well! BE THAT PERSON.

Now let's move on.

Let's talk about OC's.

OC stands for Original Character and in my opinion these books are extremely hard to write because it's hard to make ORIGINAL characters ORIGINAL.

OC books often get repetitive with use of the same story plot or even the characters look the same.

Sometimes they'll just be a random selfie of who they want the girl/guy to look like but they will give NO background information.

People who even THINK about writing OC books are BRAVE in my opinion. I don't think I'll ever be able to do it because it's difficult and hard to be perfected.

Just be sure to make your character unique.

Now onto the use of celebrities, or in our case, wrestlers.

This is 3000x easier than writing a OC book simply because people are already familiar with the background of the character you are using and that makes the story telling a lot easier.
