My summer was a honestly a craze, college visits and campus tours, classes on top of classes on top of classes, cheer camp and practice. Unavoidably, the reality of high school came crashing down as soon as the August bells rang. I am not here for it.

Although I hate the early, monotonous monster that is high school, I, Kenslie Adam Brown, vow to make my senior year, the best year.

After my quick shower, two outfit changes and three rounds of hairstyles, I went downstairs to find my mother charging around orders to my brother, Gavin.

"How do I look mom?" I spun for her to see everything.

She stopped bustling and stared at me. She cupped her hands to her mouth and tears started building up in her eyes. "Oh my, my baby!" She hugged me and grabbed her phone. "Stand by the couch baby, let me get some pictures. It's my daughters last year of high school, oh my god!"

Gavin looked up in annoyance. "Mom, you still have me in two years, Naomi in four and Lilly in like nine! What's Ken so special for?"

Mom looked at Gavin, "Oh honey, I don't care if I have twenty more children, each child has their special moments, and it doesn't get any less special no matter how many times I go through it. Your time will come baby." She cupped his chin.

I finally spoke up, "Mom it's almost 6:30, you should go to work." I kissed her cheek and collected her things to hand to her.

"You don't know how much of a life saver you are for driving Gav. Thank you baby," she hugged Gavin. "Love you lots!" she said to us.

I think this year will be great.
