I drove to Harley's house. She threw her bag in the back seat and hopped in the front.

"Hey doll," she said. We hugged and I started driving.

"Long morning?" I pulled an unnecessary bobby pin from her hair.

"You would not believe!" She sighed and reclined the chair. "Stop by Melodies on our way?"

"Of course," I replied, smiling.

Melodies was our spot. After Harley met Blake there, the girls and I became regulars.

I pulled up to the cream colored stand-alone building and got in with Harley.

"Hey guys," Chris, Kenslie's brother worked there, so we sometimes got perks.

"Hey Christopher," Harley smiled, "got anything good for me today?"

"Of course, want anything new Lena?"

Chris was always nice to me. I used to have a not so secret crush on him years ago, and it never fully went away, but it's definitely discrete, I hope.

"No thanks, I'll just take my usual." I smiled back and nodded.

"Right, remind me what it was again," he was flirting. Okay. Not okay. I'm hard to get. I'm also Kenslie's friend. Her best friend. Not okay.

"A strawberry iced tea with a blueberry muffin."

"Coming right up," he winked at me.

Harley and I walked to the bar seats and waited for our order.

"I don't understand why you guys won't just get married and have babies, Kens is so okay with it," Harley questioned not-so-quietly. I looked at Chris, but he was too busy making Harley's surprise order to hear.

"Okay Harley, um shut up?" I nudged her. "I don't care if Kenslie is okay with it. I don't want to get involved with someone right now. Relationships are lame now. And plus, I have a career to worry about."

"Modeling for businesses that are made by kids at our school is not a career Lena. It's a hobby, and Chris is so cute. He's a college boy! Come on Lena, you know you want to."

"It could be a career if I worked hard enough, which I will, but no Ley, I can't. Not right now."

Right on time, Chris handed us our orders. Turns out Harley got a double chocolate brownie and a caramel iced coffee.

"Thanks Chrissy," Harley said as she pulled out a ten.

"First day of school right?" he asked. I nodded. "On the house."

"You're a lifesaver! We love you!" She yelled. We walked out. As I walked through the door, we caught each other's eyes. Not okay. Not okay. Not okay.
