Axel's p.o.v:

 BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

I slam my fist down on my alarm clock, groaning in disdain. I swear every manufacturer of alarm clocks got together with all the type A anal retentive ambitious assholes to make all alarm clocks annoying as fuck. Now as much as that annoys me to no end, it doesn't seem to bother Reno as much.

Now that I think of it, there didn't seem like there was a lot of things that bothered Reno. It seemed more plausible to say that there was a great deal of things that pissed Reno off. Going down that list generally got a handful of irritated sighs and 'fucks' aimed at no one really. Until it came to dealing with my dad. Then the only response given was silence. Utterly terrifying, creepy and morbid silence. The kind of silence you get when you get news a loved one died.

And boy does Reno wish to every god he knows that it ends up being my dad. With Reno's own hands.

"Axel?"

I blinked out of my thiughgtsand turned to see Elena hand me a cup of coffee. "Oh sorry Elena, I didn't see you."

Elena pulled out a chair and sat across from me. "Is something bothering you besides your dad?"

I sighed a bit. "I can't hide anything from you."

Elena smiled softly. "Not very plausible when a Turk's your friend."

True. "Its about Reno."

Elena cocked an eyebrow. "What's wrong? Something happen between you two?"

I shook my head. "No, its how he's been acting."

Elena made a concerned noise in her throat. "What's the concern?"

I let my head rest on my hand. "He's been so driven about driving a steak knife through my dad."

Elena seemed confused. "Wouldn't that be a good thing considering the circumstances?"

I let out a hesitant sigh. "Yea, but I feel like he's starting to put too much of his energy into this and its becoming unhealthy."

Elena sccoted her chair in closer. "What have you noticed?"

I bit my lip. "I haven't seen him eating in a week, all I see him drink is coffee, I don't see him as much anymore and when i do see him he seems so aggravated all the time that its worrying me."

Elena held my hand. "We need to talk to him when he gets back."

I nodded, trembling slightly. "Okay."

Elena walked around and knelt to meet my down turned gaze. "Are you okay?"

I hugged myself tightly. "Anxiety."

Elena nodded. "Is there anything I can do to help you?"

I nodded. "Would you mind making hot chocolate? It always helps."

Elena nodded. "Of course!"

Elena got up and started the cocoa, glancing back at me every now and then. I shivered a bit while my chest started feeling tight.

Elena helped me sit on the couch, resting her hand next to my leg. "Its okay if you're scared."

I glanced up at Elena, feeling somewhat comforted by the semi-creepy grin on her face. "I know, but it feels worse to me because I love him. He's all that I have right now, and I don't want to picture my life without him because I know that means my dad will find me and kill me."

Elena laid a hand on my leg. "I get it. Don't worry Axel, I've got Rude keeping an eye on him at work."

I nodded, thanking Elena when she handed me my cup. "Is that his partner?"
