James's p.o.v:
"You sure bout this babe?"
I straightened my necklace before turning to Anix (good friend of mine), tilting my head with a smile. "I'm pretty sure. He didn't seem as distrusting when I've spoken to him."
Anix smiled and saw me shaking a bit, gripping one of my hands. "You're thinking about what you've done to him, haven't you?"
I nodded feeling my earrings dangle against my cheeks. "Yeah. Just something is bothering me about it."
"Like what?" Anix linked an arm around my waist and helped me walk out of my room, starting down the stairs.
"Well you know me, I'm paranoid as fuck. As much as I trust my son, something about it just doesn't sit right with me."
"I get it. But I wouldn't worry too much. If he meant it when he said he wanted to make up I'm sure you'll be fine."
I sighed and grabbed my messenger bag from the kitchen stool. "Okay, I just hope he doesn't mind me clinging to his side cause of my leg."
"That reminds me I forgot to ask you, did they take your crutches too?" Anix chuckled as I pulled the door behind me, looping my keys around my neck.
"Hehe apparently." I suppressed a wince getting off the final step. "Right, please."
"Of course."
It was a slightly long walk to the ice cream cart in the park, partly because my leg wouldn't stop throbbing. I was barely at the bench by the entrance and couldn't hold back a small sob of pain. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and sent a text to Axel, sitting my messenger bag in my lap. Anix gave me one last hug before he got up from the bench, his jacket slightly billowed by the gentle wind. 'I swear if I was gay, I would definitely be going after him.' Tapping my other foot on the asphalt, I fidgeted with one of my bracelets while I waited for Axel. The wind was crisp and mellow, helping soothe my nerves.
"Hey, Dad!"
I felt my body stiff a little out of nervousness, turning to face Axel as he ran up and hugged me. "Well you seem a little happier."
Axel hugged me for another moment before pulling away, keeping a hand on my shoulder. "Yeah, I had been mulling this over since last night to calm myself down."
I heaved a sigh, dragging my nails through my hair. "I'm glad I wasn't the only one that was nervous."
Axel smirked, gripping my hands that I didn't notice were shaking a bit. "Seems you're still a little jittery. How about some coffee?"
I smiled softly, wrapping an arm around Axel's waist. "That would be n-nice."
Axel frowned when he felt me limp a bit. "Here, let me." He adjusted his grip so that we were both comfortable. "Better?"
I nodded. "Yeah." I motioned to the bag in Axel's other hand as we walked. "I see you've been cooking quite the bit."
He smiled softly, sitting down at a bench close to the ice cream cart. "I didn't forget that you weren't picky, so I made at least one container of everything I know how to make."
I couldn't help licking my lips, my nails tapping the containers with delight. "Thank you. Again you know you didn't have to."
Axel pulled the top one out and pulled a fork from his bag. "I know, but I wanted to. I'm assuming Anix has been working overtime lately."
"Yeah." I felt my mouth start to water the instant I smelled fettucine alfredo. "I remember when you first made this for me."
"Really?" Axel watched me shift the messenger bag in my lap, placing the container there and hunching over slightly. "Weren't you drunk that day?"
