Taste Of You

Axel's p.o.v:

       I sat up in bed and groaned, realizing I forgot to close the curtains last night. And now the sun was blasting directly in my face. This was already off to a great start. But on the bright side (haha) Reno was coming home in five hours fifteen minutes and ten seconds. I'm not counting the minutes down. Shut up you can't prove any different ^^. I ran a brush through my hair and quickly got dressed, my boot heels clicking on the floor as I ran downstairs.

I halfway gulped two cups of coffee before Xigbar walked into the kitchen, seeing me tap my shoes on the tile floor. "Impatient aren't we?"

I smiled warily, pushing myself off the counter to fix another cup of coffee. "No what makes you say that?"

Xigbar chuckled and tied his hair into his signature ponytail. "You just seem extra fidgety. I get it, you're excited to have Reno back. But try to relax just a little or you'll be puking up that coffee later."

I took one more sip and set the cup down, rubbing my thumb over my wrist. "Okay. I guess I am a little too anxious."

Xigbar went to the fridge, rifling through the drawers before pulling out some bacon and eggs. "Want some?"

I nodded timidly, taking another small sip of my coffee. "Yeah, thank you."

Xigbar chuckled and pulled out a pan from under the stove. "No problem man. Mind waking up Elena for me?"

"Of course."

I proceeded back down the hall with my cup, my bracelets clanking on my wrists as I walked. I felt the floorboards creak under my feet, brushing my hand along the walls. I stopped at Elena's door, giving it a few light knocks. I heard some fabric rustling for a minute before she opened the door, smoothing out the front of her shirt.

"Good morning Axel." Elena beamed and followed me back down the hall.

"Good morning Laney." I plucked an apple from a fruit bowl on the counter, taking a bite. "You going in or are you here today?"

Elena smiled and reached for a pear, slipping it into her bag. "I'm actually going to get coffee with Rude before he gets Reno."

I couldn't help the little squeal that escaped my throat.

Xigbar laughed behind me, setting a plate for me next to my coffee. "Well aren't you a firecracker this morning."

"Sorry, just too excited." I grabbed a fork and sat down to eat, my shoulders hunching slightly.

"I can tell, we should go get some ice cream when he gets here." Elena bit into her bagel, a bit of jam smudging on her face.

Small time skip:

I placed around the living room, probably would wear a pattern in the carpet if I kept up the pace I had going. But I suppose it couldn't be helped that Rude was going to be getting Reno in three hours, fourteen minutes, twenty four seconds...not like I'm keeping track of anything. shut up you can't prove any different. Either way I really want him to just be home already. I miss his smile, his gentle and warm embrace...his passionate kiss that takes my breath away.

And granted, Elena and Zexion and Xigbar and Demyx are great friends, but sometimes I just want o be alone with my partner.

Which has been impossible.

Ya know, cause he's in jail.

But will be out soon, in three hours, two minutes, ten seconds Goddamnit I need something to distract myself.

"Where the hell did I put my sketchpad?" I muttered to myself as I rifled through the drawers in my bureau, finding my pencils and a sharpener but no sketchpad.
