We were in the woods. Thick, towering trees stood around us. Us being ; Me, Moira, Foxtrot and a nerdy looking dark-skinned young man of around fourteen. The foliage above was thick but it was way over our heads so I could see what lied beyond the trees.
The rays of morning sun swept over the two story house that sat past the forest. It stood in stark contrast to my immediate surroundings, its soft white walls and red roof seemed angelic in the scene. I instantly knew who's house it was.
"Why are we here" I asked in denial. I knew why we were at Alisa's house.
"We are the house of one who caught your eye young one" he said from behind me. I could feel his gaze.
"So what are we going to do just stare at her house like a bunch of stalkers" I didn't want my last memory of her being just a house. I never spoke to her properly, never told her what I felt. Never held her.
"That is not my intention, which is why I brought along Gilead here" I turned around to see the mystery lad step forward. He reached out to touch my chest and I dodged back.
"Do you want to see her ?" Gilead calmly.
"Yes"
"Then let me help you" I didn't retract when he reached out again and he made contact with my chest.
It felt as though my whole body was being pulled through a hole the size of a bottle neck. My eyes were closed and my being was compressed beyond belief. Pressure, more pressure. Then release, calm,a great calm. I felt freedom from a prison.
"That prison was your body" I heard in a voice from everywhere.
I looked down shocked and petrified as I stared up at myself.
In the air was me, I knew I was me. But there was he was. Chenin Hallodean stared from the ground onto me, still and unmoving. Likewise was Gilead with his hand still on my chest.
I heard the voice again, answering my inner thought once more.
"Just astral projection lad. Nothing to be afraid of, this is you in its purest form" It was the voice of Gilead. I looked around but saw nothing of him, except his still body on the ground with mine.
"I am here. Everywhere hearing your every thought but don't think on trying to find me. I am now as pure as you are and untraceable".
"What pause.WHAT!!. Astral projection is the stuff of fiction. You're just like those damned men who tried to kill us, using your hypnosis to trick us into shit".
"You don't know do you, I see haven't gotten the speech" he laughed.
"What you don't know is going to blow your mind" I felt his emotion it was one of purest joy.
" Whatever shit you're doing to my soul or whatever the Fuck I am now stop it" I screamed.
"Temper, temper you see to forget why I am here, brace yourself" he sounded remorseful now.
I an instant I was somewhere else. I had been teleported through space in a mere moment. And what saw and heard shook me.
There she the lily among the desert but it was different this time. She was broken. She was curled up on her sofa in the living room and her eyes were red and tears streamed down her perfect face. Her mother held her head in her lap and rubbed her hair, she too seemed deeply disturbed but her face stayed dry. Deep down though I barely dared admit it those tears, so plentiful and shattered were... for me.
" Honey, they didn't find any bodies, they,re still out there" her mother said desperately trying to hush her.
Gilead spoke once more "She doesn't believe that".
But as I had anticipated this comment from her mother only inspired a new bout of tears and bawling from Alisa. I cringed at the sound of it.
I wanted to cry but my present countenance couldn't do it without tear ducts. I wanted to go down and take her mother's place, hold her and tell her that I was alright.
I could not. And it was more than I could take.
" Please let me tell her I'm fine. She can't live on thinking I died. This isn't right. It can't be."
"When I went on my Ultimo Viaggio I had watch my father cry over my picture with a look on his face I never forget. But had MetaGear not taken me in I would have long perished. I can't let you go back." Gilead whispered.
"I can't anymore, stop this"
"Are you sure-"
"STOP THIS"
Nothing more was said. I felt the same pressure and release but this time there was no calm. Just sorrow and pain.
I the sympathy Gilead had as he glanced at me and removed his hand. Back in my body the tears flowed freely. I fell to my knees put my hands to the ground.
Moira fell and hugged me. There it was that hug, the one person I knew and could still interact with, little did I know that hug would carry me through life.
I got up. Held her by the shoulders looked her square in the face and told her not to.
"Don't do it all you will is sorrow. Don't look for Kendron" I said, she couldn't handle it.
"What your friend Kendron is up to now would deeply interest you" Foxtrot said from the shadowed cloak.
"Gilead show them"
This time without warning Gilead lunged between Moira and I and touched both our temples. Pressure, Release, Calm.
