I appear back in the temporal hallway. Warm light comes from all sides as I stare at the door I just came out of. I didn't want to just appear back at my time period. I thought I'd walk around a little bit. Almost as a last farewell, I lift my hand in front of the doorway, to where the time period is listed. When my palm touches the date, the door turns clear, showing what's happening where I just was.
Dib is sitting on his couch with Gaz, and they're talking as Gaz plays her game. I can't hear what they're saying, but they look calm. They don't seem to be arguing. Dib's face is red, most likely still flustered from the goodbye kiss I'd given him.
Lowering my hand, I walk forward to the next door, taking place a day after. This door shows Dib and Zim on the couch, at the base, and Zim seems to be agitated about something. The next day, Zim is there again, and Dib has a phone in his hand now, and Zim is back to normal again. Presumably, he'd been mad about Dib not answering his attempts at communication.Door after door I pass by, most with Zim and Dib together. I smile. That may not be me, though, I guess in some ways I technically have been in those scenarios if I'm from a time period after this takes place. A few times, I can see Gaz, usually playing her game, but in some of the doors she's talking to other humans, something I'd not seen her do before. Now that she didn't have a neglectful father unit, I suppose she'd begun to trust other again. Maybe in the future she'd not be as destructive.
Finally, I arrive back at my door. I lift my hand and the door shows Dib, sitting on the couch alone. He looks lonely, so without hesitation, I push the door open. That same falling sensation overtakes me again, and when it's gone I'm sitting in my base, in front of a repair table. On it, there's some sort of device, that, based on the tools I was using, I can only conclude to be an infuser of some kind. Memories flooding to me tell me that it was something I was working on for my Pak in order make regular injections of paste into my skin in order to keep me from burning in rain, or other Earthly fluids, such as Dib's sweat or tears, or even his saliva. There would be small tingling sensations when we kissed, and while it heightened the moment, I'd much rather be able to kiss him more comfortably.
Finishing up the device, I download the information into my Pak and make my way up to the house part of the base. Dib looks up at me as I step out of the entry I'd come up to."I'm back."
