"I SWEAR, NOEY, if you don't stop playing with things, I will find a pointy needle and stab you with it."
"Call me Noey one more time, and I will toss your ass back to Oxford myself."
I could just feel the sibling love radiating off of Sienna and Noah as they bickered back and forth. "Remind me why I brought you both with me?" I mumbled too myself.
It was Sunday, and the three of us were tucked away in a private room at the clinic. After a long phone call with Sienna after dinner with my Mum, she and Noah had volunteered to come along to my appointment with me in the morning. While I had originally thought having them come along would distract me from the IV in my arm, I had soon realized locking them in a tiny room together might not have been the best idea for my sanity.
"Because you enjoy our company immensely," Sienna grinned from where she was perched beside me on the hospital bed, before quickly adding, "And Noey might have mentioned you hate needles."
I shot a glare to Noah, who had been left no other option than to sit in the chair beside the bed. "Thanks a lot."
"Sod off, would you?" he barked at his sister, before turning a more affectionate gaze my way. "Would you believe me if I said she beat it out of me?"
"Not really. Are you admitting you got beat up by a girl?" I challenged.
He squeezed my hand where it was entangled with his, his lips curving up in an uneven grin. "If it means you won't beat me up, I'll admit anything, love."
I did my best to hold my glare, but it faltered quickly under the look of his goofy grin. "You're horrible."
"You like it."
"Shut up."
Beside me, Sienna let out a dramatic sigh. "You guys are bloody adorable. I could vomit just looking at you."
My stomach flipped just then, unamused by the thought of anybody throwing up in the immediate vicinity. I groaned, falling back into my pillows. "Thanks, Sienna. I really needed that visual."
"You're looking kind of green, Scarlett," she noted before she pursed her lips, sinking down against the wall. "Oops."
"Nice going, loser," Noah scoffed, before he moved to run a hand through my hair. "You're almost done, love. Just tough it out a little bit longer, and I promise there will be coffee in your near future."
