A/N Yesterday I published 8 chapters for you guys, you're welcome!!!
I walked to the front desk. A woman with curly red hair and a crooked nose was sitting there.
"Yes?" she asked me, almost rudely.
"I have a question on Patient Valdez, L." I state.
She looked up the name and arched her brow sarcastically, "Leo?"
"Yes." I say with my teeth closed.
She glared at me, "Ask away."
I stood up straighter, "When will he be out of the hospital?"
She read whatever was on her computer. "By 3 today." she answers.
I nod, not bothering to thank the woman. I turn and take a seat in the waiting room.
With nothing to do, I take out my phone, which is now at 40%. I put in my earphones and start listening to more music. A pop/country song begins to play, but I've used all my skips (dang it), so I try to pay attention to only the lyrics.
Because you're lonely,
You don't pay no mind
To the whispers on the street!Because you're young,
You've got the tongue of a sailor,
But you're afraid to speak. When the lights turn off,
And you find yourself in Georgia
The streetlights shine
But the silence bores ya
So you head to NY
Where you walk through stores, ya
Think you've got it all planned,
but you'll end up dead on the floorBullet holes gotta show
Bullets gotta fly
You wish the guns were gone
But you shoot all night
But you ain't in Georgia anymore!Bandaids cover your wounds
But ain't nothin' gonna stop the ache
The blood flowing out like pain
But you ain't in Georgia no more!Oh gods, I can't take this. I grab my earphones and pull them out until the song is over. The lyrics were okay, but the song--so different from what I like to listen to--was awful. Hopefully this next one is better.
Some nights I sleep
I sleep too long
My feet dangle over the edge of my bed
Waiting for a monster to get meI don't think my house is haunted
But I see eyes when I wake
Sometimes I see words dangling above me
Maybe I'm throwing my life at the stakesThen I come to realize
The fires in my soul
The wondrous things that I know
Is all in my mind
No, I'm not fineAll these tales, worth more than gold
Different meanings, but still sold
All the nights I'd rather dance
I don't stand a chance
Not a chanceWhen the rivers aren't wet and the fires don't burn
And I stop hurting then I'll be yours
Maybe when this all stops, I'll play the radio station
But until then, I'm good with just faking
