I looked at the door to his house, Nico's house. I stared at it for a long time. I admit, I had flashbacks, of my past, of our past. But I have courage. I knocked on the door.

It opened a few seconds later, to reveal Nico. He didn't look good. His hair was in every which way, and though it's only 7 o' clock, his eyes were weary and looked as if they had missed hours of sleep.

"Ready?" I ask, knowing that saying anything about it would just infuriate him.

"Yeah. Let's go." he walks down the sidewalk, causing me to run to catch up.

The hospital is in walking distance, but it takes a good twenty-to-thirty minutes. It's usually a happy place... just kidding! It's a hospital for crying out loud!

"So." I begin.

"So." Nico shrugs.

"What's up?"

"Not much."

"Anything you wanna... talk about?"

"Not really."

"Oh. Okay. You sure?"

"Yup."

"Okay."

And so we walked in awkwardness to the hospital.

When we saw Jason, he didn't look too bad. He had a broken leg, a bruised cheek, and a shattered wrist; he also looked really exhausted.

Okay, I take back what I said; he looked bad. Still good-looking though, *nudge* *nudge*.

"Hey, Jase," I handed him the bear we got. "How ya feelin', hot-shot?"

A smile grew on his mouth. "I'm good, guys, thanks for coming." he credited.

TIME SKIP

We had talked a little while with Jason, not much happened there. We left about fifteen minutes after we'd come by.

Now we're at my house, in my living room.

"Hey, Nico?" I put down my wires.

"What?" he arches an eyebrow, looking from the T.V.

"Can we talk?"

"We are talking."

"No, about...what happened."

"Between us?"

"Yeah."

He smirks--Why is he smirking? "I guess." he replies, a small smile playing at his mouth. What's he thinking?

"So you got all upset when I asked if you wanted a movie, before." I begin.

He smirks again. Why is he smirking? "Yup." he replies.

"Mind telling me why?" I ask, dropping my usual joking mood, too curious. This boy...

His smirk droops to a frown, "Will and I had movie nights all the time. I was just reminded of him. That's all," His smirk returns (I thought I was supposed to do the smirking). "But I'd rather watch movies with you."

I choke, "What does that mean?" Coming from the person who actually scares me at times, I really want to know.

He looks me dead in the eyes, "You're cute, Valdez. Now, leave me alone, before someone gets hurt."

"Did you just compliment and then threaten me?"

"Pretty much."

"O-Okay then."

He looks away, his smirk transforming into a small smile lost in memory. He gazes where I couldn't tell, his hair covering my sight of his orbs.

"You know," he suddenly says after a few moments of what seemed like we were in a trance. "I think I should go. Before..." he looked to his shoes, I could tell his cheeks were tinting slightly red.

"What?" I mumbled, utterly confused.

I could've sword I saw him wipe a tear before he stood and exited slowly and quietly, but all this coming from Nico, I couldn't tell if it was real.

Is he broken too...?
