13 - Confession

I don't know what to react. I just stood here, feeling the warmth of his embrace. Hindi ko talaga alam ang i r-react ko sa sinabi niya. I'm not even sure if I heard him right.

"I ... I'm sorry." Humiwalay siya sa'king yakap at nag-iwas ng tingin.

"A-ano... Zake, hindi ako sasama bukas." Pag-iiba ko. I played with my finger at tinikom ang bibig while playing my tongue inside.

"Is it because of Flare?" He looked at me with his deep bloodshot eyes.

"NO! H-hindi. It's not about him." Umiling iling pa ako.

"Then what? Why don't you want to go? Mrs. Lopez expected the both of us there." He puts his hand on his pocket at sumandal ulit sa kaniyang kotse.

"I... may g-gagawin ako." Pagdadahilan ko at iniwas ang tingin.

"We both know you're lying." He sighed. "Why don't you just say na dahil hindi rin pupunta si Flare huh?"

"It's not about Flare, it's about y-" Agad akong napatikom ng bibig ng muntik na akong madulas. Stupid mouth.

"About...?" He narrowed his eyes at tumayo ng mabuti saka unti unting lumapit.

"H-huh? I-it's about..."

"About whom?" My feet automatically stepped back when he steps closer.

"A-about..." Ugh! Why can't I say something. And why the hell I'm stuttering! "About..." I didn't got the end what I'm saying when he grab my hand and pulled me to lean on his car while he trap me using his arms.

Now I'm trapped.

"Why Alleah? Is it hard to say the word 'you' huh?" He cocked his head.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko at nagpumiglas pero masyadong mahigpit ang pagkahawak niya sa kamay ko.

"Ano bang problema mo?" Di ko napigilang tanong. I'm confused okay? I don't really get him, the last time we talked, we're still okay. Then the next day, he treated me like I didn't exist and then now, I don't really get him.

"Ikaw!" Natigil ako sa pagpiglas ng marinig ang sinabi niya. "You're my problem okay?"

Parang nawalan ako ng lakas sa sinabi niya. Why?

"You made me crazy Alleah. Really crazy." He sighed and leaned his head on my shoulder. Ako naman, hindi nakagalaw.

"I don't get you." Iling kong sabi. "You're hard to spell."

"I really am." Naramdaman kong ngumiti siya. "I'm doing a mistake Alleah. A big mistake."

Hindi ako nagsalita.

"But I don't know why, despite of running away from that mistake... like a magnet, it pulled me back again. I really don't know why I still love this mistake. I am crazy man now Alleah."

I swallowed the lump on my throat. I'm no genius but I'm not that moron to not understand what he meant.

I'm the mistake.

"Zake." Marahan ko siyang itinulak. Hindi naman siya nagpumiglas. "Zake, naguguluhan ka lang."

Aaminin ko, may gusto ako kay Zake... and hearing him confessing (if you really call it confessing) is somewhat a music to my ear. But I'm no evil, I'm not a bitch to easily snatch him from Abby just because he likes me (if I'm not mistaken).

"Naguguluhan? Yeah right. Matatawag mo bang naguguluhan ka kung nasasaktan kang makita ang babaeng nais mong iwasan na may kasamang ibang lalaki huh?" Napaawang ang mga labi ko sa sinabi niya.

"Naguguluhan nga yata ako Alleah. Because the time when I saw you and Flare kissed... I got stabbed multiple times. I don't know why I'm feeling this feeling."

That left me speechless. Hindi ako makapagsalita. Pero kalaunan ay naka get over rin ako sa pagka shock.

"Like what you said Zake, I'm a mistake. Huwag mo na lang akong pagtuonan ng pansin. Abby loves you, huwag mo siyang sayangin."

Pagkatapos kong sabihin yun ay agad akong tumakbo papasok sa bahay.

Pagkapasok ko sa aking kwarto ay agad akong napahawak sa aking dibdib. Para akong tumakbo ng ilang kilometro sa bilis ng tibok nito.

Now, how am I going to the vacation tomorrow?

I don't know.
