Annie's POV:
I pull Katie into the kitchen, where all the drinks are. Mia's just following us, and I can tell she's uncomfortable, but she'll be fine.
I make shots for Katie and I. Four each.
"Okay, to take a shot, throw your head back so I shoots it to the back of your throat. Then swallow. That way, it doesn't burn as bad." I inform her. We take one. Then another. Then another. Then another.
"I don't feel it yet!" She says.
"Should I take more?" It's adorable how clueless she is to this all.
"It's takes a while to kick in." I laugh. I feel so bad for Mia. She looks so upset.
"Mia, if you want you can take my car and go. Just take an uber from my place like we planned. We'll get a ride." I say.
"Are you sure?" She says. I can tell she's so done with this place.
"I'm sure. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" I say while hugging her.
"See you. Good luck with her." She giggles as she leaves.
The shots are slowly kicking in, but with my tolerance they're only giving me a strong buzz. Katie on the other hand is drunk.
"You good?" I ask her.
"Better than ever!" She screams. She downs another shot and grabs a drink to go with her. We take our drinks and before long were back on the dance floor. I turn my back for two seconds, and when I'm facing Katie again she's making out with some guy. I recognize him from somewhere, I just forget where.
Suddenly, memories flow in my mind of Tyler. My ex.
He broke my heart. He cheated and lied, yet I still love him. He was perfect.
I walk back into the kitchen and take more shots. By the time Katie finds me again, I've lost count.
"not without me.." Katie slurs.
I hand her two shots. Suddenly, some guy comes up to us.
"Truth or dare downstairs. You guys care to join?" He asks, looking us up and down. He digs us, which will make for an interesting game.
"Sure." I smirk, grabbing Katie.
We head downstairs. It's full of older kids, I'm guessing seniors in highschool. We're only juniors.
We take a seat on the huge couch arrangement in the corner of the huge room.
"Okay. What're your guys names?" One girl asks.
"I'm Annie. This is Katie." I say, grinning. Katie just nods.
Looking around the group, I examine the people. And then I notice...
Brennan.
Oh god.

Brennan's POV:
Sam invited my sister and Annie to come play with us. Katie is drunk as hell, and I can tell Annie's getting there. My friends like to take advantage of drunk girls, but I'll be watching this time. I take a deep breath and we start the game.
"New girl... Annie. Truth or dare?" Abby asks.
"Dare." Annie smirks.
"Okay then. Kiss Drew." She smirks back. Annie clearly doesn't know who that is, so Abby points to him. He's the shy guy in our class, so I don't think he's ever been kissed. And I don't think Annie has either.
She grabs Drew and gives him a deep, passionate kiss.
Okay, so she proved me 100% wrong.
Tyler doesn't seem like the type of guy to even touch a girl, so I always assumed Annie had no experience. Clearly not.
Abby laughs and gives Annie a high five.
Annie's turn.
She only knows three people in the circle. Katie, me, and Drew. She makes eye contact with me. I'm screwed.
"Brennan. Truth or dare?" She grins.
Everyone turns to me.
"Uh.. Truth." I blurt out.
"Is it true Amanda cheated on you?" She asks. I want to punch her in the face. I know, she's drunk, and I know, she would never say this to me sober, but she should know better.
I dated Amanda for a year and a half before I found out she was cheating. And Annie knows the answer, because Amanda cheated on me with her boyfriend.
I sigh and glare before I answer.
"Yes. And you would know that." I mutter angrily. She looks suprised, as if she never knew the whole time.
"And why would I?" She asks back, anger in the tone of her voice.
Sh*t.
I don't think she knows.
"Next!" Sam shouts.
The circle keeps playing. Then, it's Chris's turn. He's the one who really plays with girls feelings. I'm scared as hell that he's going to choose Annie or Katie.
"Katie. Truth or dare."
My breathing gets a little heavier.
"Dare."
The color flushes out of my face. I'm not going to watch one of my best friends break my little sister heart.
Chris smirks.
"We're gonna play a little game. Seven minutes in heaven. With me." He smirks.
"Isn't that for middle schoolers?" Katie asks, slurring her words while laughing at the same time.
"Does it really matter?" He says, grabbing her hand to pull her to a spare room.
"Chris.." I glare at him. He knows I'm pissed.
"Let her go." I demand.
"Cmon bren, it's just a game." Katie giggles. Before I can say anything, they're already locking the door. I look at Annie.
"You're not gonna stop her?" I hiss at Annie.
"She's drunk. Drunk Katie gets her way. Trust me." She says, putting her hands up in defense.
"Not on my watch."

Annie's POV:
Brennan stands up and walks to the room Katie and that guys are in. Brennan said his name was Chris.. I think. Everything's fuzzy and I don't know how drunk I am right now.
Brennan bangs on the door, and I hear giggles come from inside.
"About what you said... I should know? What do you mean by that?" I ask curiously.
"Amanda cheated on me. With.." He stops, trying to listen through the door.
"And?" I ask.
"Annie, you seriously don't know?!" He says, throwing his hands in the air. I shake my head.
"Your boyfriend. Amanda cheated on me with Tyler." He says. Then he turns back to the door and starts punching the door again.
Suddenly, everything freezes. I can't hear anything.
One of my best friends. Someone I've know for years. Stole... My boyfriend?!
"I'll be right back." I say blankly to Brennan. I go up the stairs and into the kitchen. I want to be numb. I don't want to remember any of this. I grab the bottle of vodka and take a swig. It burns my throat. Badly. But I don't care. I want to be numb.
Not before long, and the bottle is empty. I set it on the counter, and head back downstairs.
I take a random Palm Bay on the table and chug it.
I want to be numb.
And suddenly, I black out.

Brennan's POV:
Annie left, and everyone downstairs is ignoring me completely.
"That's my sister in there! Guys!" I shot and the circle. The just shrug their shoulders. I slam on the door again. I can hear Katie mumbling and Chris laugh.
I check my watch. One more minute left, and their little 'game' is over.
I didn't even notice when Annie is next to me again, leaning against the wall. Her eyes are puffy and she smells like she's doused in alcohol.
"Look, Annie, I'm sorry. It hurt me too... but you can't drink your feelings away. That's just going to make it worse.. It'll hit you even harder when you're sober now. Trust me. I know."
A tear falls down her cheek and she wraps her arms around me. Suddenly, my little sisters best friend is sobbing in my arms.
The door I'm leaning on is pushed open, and Katie stumbles out. Chris barely drank anything, so he's practically sober. Katie's lipstick is all over her face and Chris's. She puts a loose strap back on her shoulder. Chris smirks at me. I let go of Annie and punch him in the face. Hard. He holds his face and sinks to the ground.
"Brnn.. Stop..." Katie slurs, falling to Chris's side. She helps him up. He glares and walks away. Of course, he's the better guy, so he would never hit me back. The people that were staring go back to what they were doing. I look over at Annie, sobbing on the floor. Katie slumped on the wall next to her slurring some random sentence. I've got to get them home.
