Chapter 1

It was a typicall friday morning... I woke up at 8am, with my eyelids falling, thinking about an excuse to stay home.

But then I realised... It was the last day of school before summer! I couldn't believe it, don't get me wrong, year 13 had been a great year, but still. I couldn't wait to wear my swim suits and go to the beach and just get out of that school! I didn't even know what I wanted to do after I finished school but I just wanted to leave that place for good!

I got up from bed and went straight to the shower. Once I came out, I openned my wardrobe and examined it.

I decided to wear a short blue summer dress with beige wedges.

I dressed up and applyed light make-up: base, bottom eye liner and mascara.

I looked at my phone and saw I had a text from Abby, my best friend.

'Elenaa!! I can't believe summer's finally here!' was the message.

Oh, by the way, my name is Elena Anderson and I'm 17. I'm a normal teenage girl, or at leaste I think I am...

Although I think that my height isn't normal... 1.56? Is that normal? Oh well, who cares? I have long brunette hair, pale skin and blue eyes. The pale skin I'm planning on changing this summer though.

Boyfriend? Don't have. Boys don't usually pay me any attention. Up till a few weeks ago, I used to be a nerd who wore large clothes, stayed home studying and wouldn't care about anything but my grades.

What changed? I did.

I realised I wasn't happy that way and people would laugh at me. So my friend Abby helped me. She took me shopping, to the hair dressers and taught me a few things.

Today is my first day of school being the new me. I was too worried about what people would say, but now, I don't care.

Once I was ready, I picked up my purse and took one last glance of myself on the mirror. Now I was ready.
