He's my Alpha

Chapter 9

We were sat down on one of the couches in his living room, I hadn't realised until then how amazing his house was, there was an entire wall covered with glass windows, bringing so much light into the room. All the furniture looked new, like no one ever used it.

Hunter put his hand on my arm.
"Are you okay? Don't be nervous, it will all make more sense once I answer all your doubts". When he talked I felt calm and safe, like I knew he would make it all better.

"Okay so how does all this werewolf thing work?" I wanted to know everything.

"Well, the werewolf gene runs through our blood, both your parents have to be werewolves for you to be one, so if your parents are wolves then it's only a matter of time that you turn."

"But why haven't I turned yet? How old were you when you turned?" I asked impatiently.

"Elena, I don't know why you haven't turned yet, you're still not 18 right?" I nodded. "Then there's nothing to worry about, you should be turning anytime soon, and then you will finally feel the mate bond we share." He told me as he held both my hands.

I pulled then away, I like Hunter but I was still confused. "Tell me more, why are you an Alpha? And what exactly do you do?"

"Well..." He smirked, "My father was Alpha of my pack, the Royal Pack, and when he turned 60 I took over."

"The Royal Pack? Is that what it's called? It sounds important." I was so amused by everything he was telling me.

"It is important, my pack is the largest and strongest of all, I am not only Alpha to my pack, I am also King to all ten packs around the country." He looked proud of himself as we was telling me this. "And you, Elena, will rule with me someday, when you're ready. I hope it's soon tho, I found you and it's so hard staying away from you. Usually once you find your mate you move in together and build a home."

He was sad, I could see it in his eyes as he talked. I really wanted to see him happy but I wasn't feeling that mate bond he did, and how could I move in with him? I barely knew him! And he was the King of all werewolves, how was I supposed to be Queen?

"So you expect me to just move in here with you? I'm 17, I just finished high school! And I have only known you for a few days!" I was panicking again, I had to stop doing that.

"I know how you feel right now, but once you turn you will see everything differently, I promise. And no, you wouldnmt move in here, this is my parents' home, not mine." He said, while he got up and walked towards the huge glass wall. He waved his hand signalling me to come towards him, I did so and he pointed towards a forrest which was behind both our homes. "Do you see that forrest back there?" I nodded, "My home is right behind it, hidden from humans. That's were we will live once you turn and decide you want to move in. It's the safest place in the area."

"What do you mean 'it's the safest place'? What is it safe from?" I asked worried.

"I am the King of all werewolves Elena, I have a few share of wolves who either want me dead or want to be me. That place is built to keep me and my family safe, once I have one." He looked at me with hole in his eyes, did he mean a family with me? I was not having children any time soon so he better forget about it.

"Then why are you staying here and not at your place?" He looked away when I asked this.

"Umm, well I... I guess I just wanted to... you know, be closer to you, make sure you were okay." He whispered, but I heard it perfectly. It was slightly creepy but kind of sweet that he cared so much.

"Thank you, but I don't need you baby sitting me Hunter, I can take care of myself." I said firmly.

"And I never doubted that! I just can't help worrying." He took a step closer to me while he said that. He gently placed his hand on my left cheek and caressed it, "I can't keep myself away from you Elena, I just can't"

He moved his face closer to mine and looked at my lips, his eyes turned black and now it all made sense, he was a wolf, that was why his eye colour changed!
I was so tempted to kiss him but I couldn't, I knew how Hunter felt about me, and how I didn't feel that link yet, so I took a step back.

"I'm sorry Hunted, I can't do this right now. Thank you for explaining a few things, but I think I should head home." I looked down, I didn't want to see the sad look in his eyes I knew he had.

"I understand, but can I please come see you tonight? Just to make sure you're okay"

I looked up, "Sure". I turned around and walked towards the door, Hunter was right infront of me in seconds, he opened the door for me and smiled. "I'll see you tonight", he said with a warm voice.

"See you tonight".
