-Val's P.O.V-
"Cause it's one, one, one for the money-"
I was singing along to Escape the Fate while putting on my makeup. Today was a shit day because today was the first day of senior year. Of course, my mom still forces me to go to school because if she doesn't, she knows very well I would drop out. But what can you do?
"Val! It's 7:45, get your ass down here!" My mom yelled at me.
"I'm coming!" I yelled back,"God damn, woman," I muttered under my breath.
When I was done putting on my maroon lipstick, I grabbed my book bag, grabbed my phone and turned off my speaker, and headed downstairs.
"My God, Val, what takes you so long to get dressed?"
"It doesn't take me long to get dressed, it takes me long to decide which song to play so I can get dressed,"I finished, smiling at my mom in a sarcastic way.
She grunted then ushered me out of the house and into the small minivan we had.
When we arrived at the school, I knew I was going to hate it.
"I have to come to this shit-fest?" I asked my mom.
"Watch your language and yes you do, Val. I'm tired of you getting kicked out of school for fighting other people. This school is expensive so I expect you to be on your best behavior while in class, okay?"
I nodded in defeat and kissed her goodbye.
I plugged in my earphones to my iPhone and finished the rest of Escape the Fate - One for the Money. One of the songs I could actually stand.
I walked in the building straight into the cafeteria which went silent when I walked in.
Every person here was staring at me, like they've never seen a girl like me. Not emo, but not goth either. I was more in between with a grunge style.
I rolled my eyes and sat down at a table with this guy in a big hoodie reading a book.
"Hey,"I tried getting him to respond.
He looked up at me and I've never seen anyone look more similar to Oliver Sykes. He was pretty cute. His hair was pressed down and he wore a big Pierce the Veil sweater. Finally someone who had a similar music taste.
"Hi..." he responded in a slightly raspy voice.
"My name is Val and not be fucking awkward I'm just gonna point out and say nice hoodie," I was very settle with introductions. Insert eye roll.
"Thanks, Pierce the Veil is my favorite band and my name is Ethan,"he smiled and oh my god that was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
"Nice to meet you Ethan, not to be a huge bum but can you take me around the school and show me to my classes?"
"Um...sorry I can't" he looked genuinely sad but it was okay.
"It's okay, nice meeting y-" the school bell interrupted my nice ass sentence to this cute ass guy.
"I gotta go, see you at lunch,"he hurried off with his backpack and book. He was really tall for a senior. He was probably around 6 feet tall.
Whatever, I can just show myself to my classes. I stood up and walked out along with the rest of the students and tried finding my social studies class, first period.
Fuck, where was this class? I tried asking some bimbos but they were too busy chewing gum and being annoying. Ugh.
Then the tardy bell rang. Oh hell no. I panicked and started running.
