The nightmare had plagued my mind,
For three days,
I tried to block it from my thoughts,
To think of anything but the gruesome events that my own mind had fabricated,
But every time I closed my eyes,
I saw the face of Jin,
Blood oozing out of his eye sockets,
Terrifying me more than I already had been,
So as I made my way to the diner that jin had told me about,
I kept my eyes trained on the path in front of me,
Trying to distract myself from the fact that it was dark and anyone could jump out and try to kill me,
To say my imagination had gone wild would be an understatement,
All of the sudden I felt a sense of paranoia,
And it controlled my every move,
When I finally made it to the diner,
It was mostly abandoned,
It was dimly lit,
Probably to make it more homely,
But to me it made it slightly darker,
Scarier,
But I went in anyways and sat at one of the tables,
There was a boy sitting in the shadows who looked vaguely familiar,
But I had no idea why,
Out of no where,
An old man came up to me,
An eye patch covering his left eye,
"Mind if I tell you your fourtune, laddie?"
A sinister smile adorned his face,
But I gulped and nodded,
Unsure whether it would be better to say yes or deny the man,
Would he try to kill me if I said no?
No,
That's ridiculous,
That only happens in dreams.
He sat down and grabbed my hand,
Tracing his fingers over my palm,
In the background a traipsing melody began to play,
His one eye darted back in forth,
The music picked up to an almost overwhelming pace,
His grip on my hand tightened,
The music reached a fevered pitch,
His nails dug into my palm,
My head felt like it was going to explode,
And he let out a gasp of agony,
His eye rolled back into his head,
And I'm not sure if I just imagined it,
Or if it was actually a reality,
But I swear a drop of blood escaped from his eye,
I yanked my hand back,
Standing up,
Ready to bolt,
When he said something that made my rapidly beating heart stop,
"You're going to become something dark,
Something baleful,
You're going to do something you never thought you would,
Beware the lion in sheep's clothing,
Because if you get close,
You'll be ripped to shreds,
Leaving a shell of your former self."
His voice stopped,
And his body slumped forward,
The boy in the back now had his gaze trained on me,
His eyes like black holes,
That could suck me right up.
