Evan, Jared, and Alana are humans and met Zoe when they were on a boating trip on Alana's boat + Ghost sharks lose their sense of sight if it's too bright somewhere so he wouldn't really be able to survive in Zoe's habitat (reef) so he stays in a cave near the surface so they can stay together
Evan is gay for the shark im yelling
After meeting Zoe at the reef on their boat trip they all go scuba diving to see her again and she brings them to the cave and Connor scares the shit out of them but really he's more scared of them.
Connor's eyes glow in the dark sue me
Zoe actually takes care of herself rip Connor

Zoe knows what a tree is because of the small island near the reef
Connor has no idea what a tree is and gets scared whenever anyone mentions them
Connor doesn't talk much (he still talks) but he makes sound a lot
