"Happy Birthday Eve." I heard Cass yell when she came in my room.
I covered my head with my pillow as she started to sing her happy birthday song. Gosh, I seriously didn't like this idea of a birthday eve. But since I've been friends with her, I've been getting two days of celebration. I wasn't a fan of this Birthday Eve at all. I don't ever think, I really was. Yeah, sure my two days of celebration before my 16th birthday were pretty nice. But I'm turning 21... I don't see why I should be excited to celebrate 2 days of me entering adulthood.
"You're going to turn 21 at exactly midnight, and it's going to be the best party ever." Cass said.
"Party?" I quickly uncovered my face.
"Yeah... I was thinking that-" She started.
"Party?" I cut her off.
"Come on. Don't make me call everyone back to cancel."
She seemed really disappointed if she couldn't get what she wanted.
"Who did you invite?"
It's my twenty first birthday. You understand that I wouldn't want to have a unknown crowd partying with me.
"Don't worry. I only invited people you know."
"You said that at the New Years Eve party... I probably knew like 20% of the people."
"That's another story and a really regretful night." Cass ended saying.
I wasn't the only one to have a crushed new year eve. Apparently, someone might have broken in Cass room and picked a few interesting stuff from her closet. You know those really expensive victoria secret-
"I hated our New Year party." She said with a pretty frustrated look on her face.
"Sure. Back on my birthday. Who did you invite. I want names." I said and slowly got up from my bed.
"Well..." She started. I turned to look at her.
"Spill." I said and crossed my arms against my chest.
"I invited, your friend Nina. She actually really was excited about the party. She has ideas and she's helping me organize." Cass explained.
"Ideas... spill."
"I can't tell you. I'm just sure you're going to like it." She said.
"I want to know."
"I can't tell. Nina don't want me to tell."
"I'll know before the party even start. I'll be here all day."
"About that. Your mom is taking you out, today."
"I didn't-" I started
"She's coming all the way from Malibu for this."
Like Malibu was even that far...
"Will she be at the party?"
Please make her not be there. My mom would be considered a 'cool' mom. Everyone thought she was pretty cool and young and everything. But for me. She could just be so embarassing. I mean, I love my mother to death. But I prefered when she acted out her age. Not acting 21 year old.
Having her be at my party.... well, let's just say, it wouldn't be MY party anymore.
I'm not selfish, though. Don't get me wrong. She just had this way to make stuff all about her sometimes. And it wasn't the best thing... and seriously, it's my one day to make stuff about me, kinda.
"Not sure."
Cass loved my mother. She even would call my own mom her mother. And I could see her inviting my mother to something like this.
