Allen POV

With the sun set, and no sign of the girl, Linalee, Lavi, and I all sit on the rooftop, watching the stars come out of hiding. It was a lovely night, with a bold crescent moon, and the stars shining brightly behind wispy clouds.

I take in a sharp breath as my eye activates, nodding to my fellow exorcists. We launch ourselves off the roof, heading straight towards our newfound enemies. It's almost a shame to interrupt the calm beauty of the night with explosions....

Running along the rooftops, more and more Akuma show themselves to my eye. I spot a dozen level 1s, a couple level 2s, and a level 3. I have to steel myself against the cries of anguish, but tear up a little anyway.

I spot a figure in front of us, and it appears to have the attention of Linalee and Lavi as well. It's a girl, with frayed white hair, even whiter than mine if possible, and what appears to be a bed sheet wrapped around her. As we draw nearer, I have to notice it is not a bed sheet, but the same material as my Crowned Clown.

When we get within shouting distance, I suddenly stop. My body won't let me move, and the others have stopped as well. I attempt to run forward, destroy the Akuma, but my body physically won't let me, it's as if my innocence is holding me back...

I see the girl lean forward, ready to jump towards the Akuma. I stretch my right hand forward, "NO, DON'T!" As she leaps forward, it seems as if the world around her shatters, and huge, glittering, wing-like objects fan out from her back, never actually touching her, and yet they seemed to be attached to her. She flys up to the crowd of Akuma, and strangely, they seem to be calmly waiting for her. She brushes past each Akuma, gently brushing them with her slender fingertips, as they blow up past her, her seemingly indifferent.

I see every Akuma's soul drift upward, happy smiles on their faces, and an all around look of peace. As she gets to the level 3, she stops and whispers something, before gently placing her hands on either side of it's 'face'. I flick my eyes up to see her eyes, which are glowing an innocence green, bright against her already rather shining presence.

She shuts her eyes, her long, dark, thick lashes fanning out on her cheeks. I snap my attention back on her actions, and notice she is leaning her face closer to the Akuma's. As her lips touch the spot where the Akuma's would have been (if it had any), the Akuma explodes, right in her face.

I'm suddenly able to move again, and I shot forward, my right hand outstretched towards the fireball, hot wind rushing past me. I see the Akuma's soul, flying upwards with a peaceful look, a tear of relief escaping. I let my tears of loss fall as I see the girl falling down, down, down rapidly. It's funny how, in moments like this, your body takes the time to notice things, like the extreme irony in the fact the fight took place above a graveyard. As she falls, I see all the white turn to black, the girl now has black hair, in the same style as before, and black pajamas. Her wings vanished...

Time suddenly returns to normal as the girl hits the ground, body sprawled out above a couple cross gravestones. I leap to her side, Linalee and Lavi right behind me, but I hardly notice. "Are you ok?! Miss?! Are you ok?!" I scream, concern evident. Tears stream down my face, we can't lose another one, we just can't!

She starts to stir, dazed and confused. "How did you survive that?!" Linalee asks, amazed at what she's just witnessed. "I didn't." The girl answers, almost on instinct. Linalee, Lavi, and I all freeze, taken aback by her response. "What?" Lavi asks, though it is phrased like a statement. "Check my pulse, I'm not alive." The girl states, less confused now, and more just amused.

I put two of my finger on her cool wrist, in the spot just below her thumb, and feel.... Nothing. This girl has no heartbeat. "Technically, I'm dead." She states proudly, though it has a sad undertone to it. I look into her eyes, now an emerald green, and see just how dull they are.

Linalee snaps, "Oh, your the girl! 'The girl with no heartbeat!'"

"Woah, that's weird, man." Lavi states, rather rudely, and I see that he is leaning slightly away from her.

I stand, a kind smile on my face, and offer a hand to her. "Can you stand?" "I think so..." She replies, rubbing the back of her head. "What's your name?" I ask her, she seems taken aback by my kindness, and hesitates. "Dawn."

A/N: Sorry, I meant to upload this yesterday, but I've been having a bad week.

Yay! They finally meet! So I just wanted to clear up some confusion, basically, this picks up where the anime left off. And yes I know the manga continues after that, I'm just basing this off the anime.

Thanks so much for your reads, and I apologize for my tardiness, but I made this chapter longer, so hopefully that makes up for it! Comments are appreciated, thank you! ^•^
