MarKai looked so surprised when I told her that Shay loved her. Seriously, that girl can be so dumb and blind sometimes! Sure she "hangs out"-she doesn't like the word 'date' if it's not serious-with a lot of guys, but still! She can't even tell the difference between when a guy genuinely likes her and if he just wants in her pants.

"But, how could you tell that? You say he loves me, so how do you know that? Did he tell you?" she asked.

"No, but he didn't have to. I see the way he looks at you, like it's killing him to not kiss you. The way he looks when you talk about another guy? He looks so hurt and jealous. He's using girls to make you jealous, but it's not working out. You think that cuddling on the couch is what best friends do, but it's not. Kai, I love you, but you're blind!"

"Okay, so that proves he likes me. But that he loves me? How do you know that?"

"When you went to hang out with Josh, he wouldn't shut up about how he hoped you weren't doing anything stupid or being taken advantage of. He cares for you so much, Kai, and just the thought of you doing anything with another guy cuts him to ribbons. Then, when you called, he looked so happy! He went racing away."

MarKai laughed. "Does he even know I'm still a virgin?"

"I don't think anyone knows! The guys you hang out with only want in girl's pants. Only you and I know that you only hang out with them once."

(MarKai's P.O.V)

Shay loving me just didn't make sense, but, at the same time, it made perfect sense. Shay just treated me like a friend, he always came to me with girl problems and I always fixed them. I wanted him to be happy. But maybe, just maybe, Lexie was right. Maybe he HAD been trying to make me jealous. Cuddling on the couch, his arm always around me, even calling me his Kai. He did like me! But love? That doesn't sound like Shay. I needed a plan to find out for sure.

"Do all those bruises hurt?" I asked Lexie.

"A little, but not really. I don't even know how they got there. I don't think he hit me, but maybe he did. It was just so horrible, Kai!"

Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked her.

"Yeah, let's get out now."

"Okay," I got up and grabbed my towel, then handed her the purple one she had brought in. We wrapped up and went into my room. As we got into our pajamas she started to talk.

"I feel so dirty, like someone took something away from me." she said.

"Lexie, he took nothing from you. You fought him off before he reached his goal. And that's the best thing."

"I know, but like, he put his finger in me! And, it kind of felt good. I wouldn't want HIM to do that, but I would want Robby to do that!"

Robby is the guy Lexie's after. I think she should just go for it, but whatever. She wants him to do something. We both know he likes her, though, because one day we were walking in the hall and overheard him talking about her.

I laughed on the inside. "Oh Lexie. I wouldn't know."

She laughed. "Yeah, but you could. Just go over to Shay's house!"

"Be quiet, Lex!" I giggled.

"It's truuuuuue!" she teased. We both giggled and fell onto my bed.

"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked her.

"Yeah, how about a scary one?"

"Okay which one?"

"Let's watch... Cabin Fever."

"Alright," I agreed. "You want popcorn?" I asked her.

"Yeeeeeess please!"

I went downstairs to go make popcorn and get other munchies while Lexie set up the movie and sound. My room has surround sound speakers that you can move according to movie.

I went into the kitchen and got out two popcorn bags, and put one into the microwave. I then got out our big popcorn bowl, a bag of chocolate-covered pretzels, and a bag of sour gummy worms. The microwave "dinged" and I walked over to it to take the bag of popcorn out and put the other one in. I heard someone talking in the living room, so I peeked my head around the corner.

My mother and her boyfriend, Stephen, were on the couch making out.

"Ewwies!!" I yelled. They both sat upright immediatly and looked at the TV. I laughed. I could practically FEEL their faces turning red. Still chuckling, I walked back into the kitchen and finished up the popcorn. I put all of out seasoning, the pretzels, and the gummy worms in the popcorn bowl. I grabbed a Dr. Pepper for Lexie and a Pepsi for myself and headed upstairs. When I got there, Lexie was all set with the curtains to my canopy closed, the lights off, and the pillows at the foot of the bed. I turned the light on and put everything on the small table at the end of my bed. I turned the lights back off and got under the covers with Lexie. She pushed play and the movie started.
