Day 4: 5 AM
The next morning, Joelle was on her right side, sleeping. Soon though, she got out of bed, feeling like she had to go to the bathroom. After she was done, she climbed back into bed, causing Joe to stir.
"Are you okay, baby doll?" he asked softly with a sleepy voice.
"Yes Dad, I'm fine," Jojo smiled. "I just had to go to the bathroom, that's all."
"Okay." Joe stretched his body out and yawned. "I think I may have to go myself. I'll come back, alright?"
Laying back down, his daughter replied, "Okay Dad."
Kissing Joelle on the cheek, Joe got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. After, he climbed back into bed and laid on his back.
"So do you feel better now that you've gotten some sleep?"
"Yes I do, Dad." Joelle cuddled into her father's chest, making him smile. He raspberried her on the cheek, causing her to laugh. In return, he had to laugh as well.
"Well I'm glad, Jojo. Ready to try your hand at kayaking later today?" asked Joe.
"Yes Dad, I am. It'll be interesting considering I've never been on a kayak before."
"Well..." Joe shrugged his shoulders. "Trying something new today, it seems like." He picked up his phone to look at the time. "Um... Joelle?"
"Yes?" she asked back innocently.
"Do you not know that it is 5:15 in the morning?" He looked around the room. It was still pretty dark, suggesting that the sun had not come up. "And the sun is not even out yet."
"Oops." Joelle covered her mouth.
"Yeah, oops," Joe replied, mocking his daughter. "We're on vacation, kiddo. We are not supposed to be up this early."
With her head still on her dad's chest, Joelle looked up at him and said, "Sorry Daddy."
"Eh. It's okay, kiddo. Nothing to worry about. Seriously though, go back to sleep. Okay?"
Through a yawn, Jojo replied, "Okay." Then she shut her eyes and snored silently with her mouth open a little.
Joe smiled and rubbed her back.
"Ou te alofa iate oe, Jojo. Love you so much," he whispered. Then he closed his eyes and drifted off back to sleep himself.
A Half Hour Later
Joe and Joelle were still in bed sleeping when Joe's phone beeped. He rolled over to look at the phone and saw that he'd gotten a text from his friend Colby Lopez (Seth Rollins). Seriously? Why would anyone text Joe before 6:30? Especially when he was on vacation?
Colbs: Good morning, Big Dog. What's going on today?
"Dad, what was that?" Joelle had heard her dad's phone beep as well.
