Katelyn slowly woke up assuming it to be a normal day. She went to sit up and winced in pain. There were tight restraints around her wrists. Katelyn tried to stay calm, her vision blurry. Where was she? The last thing she remembered was...what was the last thing she remembered? Now she was truly terrified. Who was she? Why was she tied up? What was happening?

Katelyn's vision slowly started to clear up, as the pace of her breathing quickened. Was this what they called a panic attack. She looked around at the sterile room for any indication of what was going on. Katelyn began to cry softly against her will. She hated to cry but she couldn't help it. Katelyn looked over at someone who was also tied up. A dark haired man was looking up at the ceiling stoically. She heard a soft sigh come from a man. He sounded as if he had lost all hope. The man looked over at her with the most heartbreaking green eyes she had ever seen. They looked like a broken, sad, jolly rancher.

Jack gave a very soft smile and said, "Hey cutie. What's your name? I think mine is Jack. Don't be too scared. I'll try and get you out of here, or I'll at least try to die first.". He chuckled a dark, sad chuckle. Katelyn noticed what looked like small diamonds in his eyes. Tears. He had tears in his eyes. She had never seen a guy cry before. She didn't think she had. Katelyn scratched and desperately clawed at her mind for a name. The name Katelyn seemed to finally emerge from her searching.

Katelyn shyly and quietly said, "M-my name is Katelyn. Sorry...I'm trying to stay calm but...". She started to cry a little. Jack had the compulsion to hug her or something but he couldn't. He angrily jerked at the metal restraints. Why were they trapped here? Jack tensed with anger. Why then? Jack finally looked over at Katelyn. His entire demeanor softened. "No...don't cry. Katelyn? That's a beautiful name princess. Everything's going to be okay.".

'Don't make promises you can't keep Jack'. The quote echoed through Jack's mind. Who said that? Jack felt like his life had just been stolen from him. Everything seemed so cloudy. Katelyn's breathing slowly calmed down. Her tears dried softly. Jack smiled softly at the sight of her. He was glad she wasn't crying. His smile seemed to be contagious, because a weary smile spread across her face. This made Jack's smile widen even more.

"So Kitten, do you happen to know where we are or what's happening?"
