"So Kitten, do you happen to know where we are or what's happening?"

Katelyn looked over at him and smiled a bit more with a small sniffle. Kitten. She had never heard that one before. Katelyn's cheeks flushed a little. "No, I have no clue.", she still spoke timidly. Jack softly responded, "Ah I see. So we're in the same boat then.". Jack smirked a little at her. He said, "At least they tied me up next to a cute girl. I guess I did something right.". He was teasing her just a little. Concern still ruled both of their expressions, but Jack tried, in vain, to lighten the mood.

Katelyn looked at him and felt heat hit her cheeks. "Oh hush.". She smiled at him. A strange silence filled the room. It wasn't an awkward silence, or a silence of fear, but just a silence. It was like they were both listening for something. Then they heard something. The sound of loud screams attacked Katelyn's ears. Fear struck both of their faces as they looked towards the door. Katelyn tried to resist the urge to cry again.

Jack managed to calm himself, as he looked over at her. "In situations like this it is best to stay calm. Let's look at the exits. We will make it out of here. You understand me?". Katelyn nodded quietly. She stayed silent. Jack silently marked the exits in his mind. He quietly tried to rip off the restraints with his pure strength. He got something to budge before he finally couldn't do anything more. Jack finally dropped his arms and looked over at the terrified blonde girl to his left.

The silence in the room was brutal. Jack tried to calm the panicking girl. "Look into my eyes. I promise we will find a way". Katelyn seemed to calm looking into his eyes. Jack smiled at Katelyn's hazel eyes. They were a beautiful deep brown with green laced in them. He softly said under his breath, "Beautiful...". His cheeks became lightly dusted pink. The room fell silent as they heard something coming down the hallway. The sound of the clicking heels of dress shoes. There was a squeaky cart that sounded as if it were being forcefully shoved across the hallway.

A stiff looking doctor walked into the room silently. Katelyn looked terrified while jack remained stoic. The doctor softly said, "All patients before you have died, and you have an extremely high chance of dying. Do you have any last words, or do you wish to move on with the process.". Jack looked over at Katelyn. He looked into the gray, dull eyes of the doctor. He said with determination, "Let me go first.". Jack observed the doctor. Bald with thin rimmed glasses. A hospital paper hat, and what looked like a cloth mask with a red x on the mouth. The man had a small ID on his left side. He was wearing a doctors uniform.

The doctor seemed surprised by Jack's sudden willingness to volunteer. Jack smiled at her with tears in his eyes. "Also, If I had a family, tell them I love them. And Katelyn, you're beautiful.". Jack flashed one more smile, his emerald green eyes shining in the light. His tears made them even brighter. He closed his eyes calmly waiting.

The doctor seemed to be in shock. He slowly rolled his cart over. There was a syringe filled with a bright green liquid. He slowly picked it up walking over to Jack. Jack winced as it was raised to his arm. He closed his eyes trying not to shake or cry. Like any other rational person he was afraid of death. As the needle was inserted into his arm, he flinched and took a deep breath. The doctor closed his eyes a bit solemnly and pressed the plunger. Jack screamed in extreme pain trying to pull out his restraints animalistically. Jack struggled in fear. Suddenly, it was over. He wasn't dead. Jack smiled and praised everything he had. The doctor looked at Jack with wide eyes. Jack was the first one ever to survive.

Jack looked around with wide eyes. He lived. He was sure that would be the end for him. Now his only concern was Katelyn. He started to struggle weakly. "Please wait...not her...stop...". He pulled as hard as he could, but he wasn't able to apply much force. Katelyn looked terrified. She started to cry quickly as the doctor loomed over her. "Tell my family I love them if I have one! I apologize for all my sins or whatever! Jack you're hot.". She shut her eyes tightly in fear. Jack wanted to protect her. He slowly got more aggressive with his pulling, his eyes glowing unnaturally green. He was too occupied to notice the plants growing on the walls around the.

The doctor looked around in fear, and then quickly plunged the electric blue syringe into Katelyn's arm. She screamed out in a mix of fear and pain, her brown eyes turning bright, electric blue. When it was finally over her arms went limp but she was still alive and awake. The doctor's eyes widened in surprise. He ran out of the room quickly holding a stack of papers almost tripping on the way. He yelled out, "It worked they survived!! What do I do with them?!". Katelyn looked over at Jack in fear crying quickly. She heard a gun cock and a loud gunshot. They both cringed. Katelyn started to hyperventilate, everything around her beginning to float. Jack looked at her trying to stay calm. "Come on blondie. It's okay. We will make it out of here just calm down.". Jack spoke softly, trying not to sound afraid.

It was too late. Katelyn was already launching into a full blown panic attack. She began to glow electric blue as everything around her floated. A gigantic electric blue explosion pulsated from her body knocking down the entire body and everything around them. Jack with his eyes wide clenched his eyes praying that he would survive. When he opened his eyes once more he found himself surrounded by...twigs. Twigs? "What the...?" He looked around in confusion. A curled up Katelyn was next to him in the ball of twigs. He quickly crawled over to her and looked towards her. "Katelyn? Katelyn are you alright?! It's just you and me in all this! You've got to be alright.", Jack spoke as his voice quivered. He was quite shaken. Jack couldn't understand anything that was happening.

Katelyn's eyelids slowly started to lift. Katelyn looked at Jack and softly asked, "What's happening...?". Jack picked her up bridal style and looked at her. He softly said, "We have to run Kitten. I promise I won't let anything happen to you, okay?". Katelyn nodded quietly. She couldn't feel her arms or legs. Katelyn tried to say calm in this insane situation. Jack's eyes widened as the ball of twigs around him slowly cleared. He winced at the sunlight and began to run towards the unknown. Katelyn looked up at the sky. Katelyn asked in defeat,

"Do you really think we'll make it out of this?"
