Sometimes life can be overwhelming, sometimes your life can change in a matter of minutes. Reading this book may change my life forever.
I crack open to the first page to see that this book was written in the 1600's, wow so old. I see that the authors name was Harold Brown. Could he possibly be a relative of mine? The first page is shocking, "Beware of the Vain's , they are not to be trusted." That was the first chapter, literally all of the first chapter. I turn the next page over to see a family tree ( it folds out since family trees are huge) I see pictures of a lot of dead people, including my parents. I'm surprisingly on there, I don't know how my parents death dates were on there though, has someone else been in the house? I question myself.
I hear a bang on the door. "Sapphire. Bed. Now." I hear my Mother yell and I do just that. I slide the book into my backpack and quickly fall asleep.
The school day goes by rather quickly, with nothing much happening. After school I head to Shiloh's house to work on our project. "So what are we supposed to do?" The twit ask me again for the third time causing me to roll my eyes.
"Haven't----- Nevermind, can I go into the library?" I ask and he nods. I head into the library and look through the thousands of books his parents have. I pull out " To Kill a Mockingbird" ,"Romeo and Juliet" ,"Fahrenheit 451" ,"Of Mice and Men" ,"Jayne Eyre" "The Scarlet Letter" ,"The Kite Runner" ,"Les Miserables", "The Great Gatsby", "Little Women" "The Grapes of Wrath", and "Lord of the Flies."
Just as I am about to exit the room my eyes catch another book, one that looks very familiar, I look at it and it is the same book that I found in my house last night. Why would they have a book that speaks bad about the Vain's? I ask myself
I open up the first page and I see that it has been flipped, " Beware of the Browns, they are not to be trusted." I hear footsteps and I carefully put the book back in its place, keeping it lightly sticking out just in case ;)
I walk out of the library to see Shiloh standing right in front of the door. Oh God, He must know! I panic. "Come on red, I'll help you." He takes the books out of my hands and walks back into his rooms.
I sigh in relief and follow behind him. I explain the project to him once again, hoping he got it this time. "So wolf boy, do you understand what we're doing now?" I tease.
"Yes I do red." He sticks his tongue out at me. "Oh about the whole wolf thing, please don't tell anybody." He begs and I giggle.
"That's hilarious. Who would I tell? My pillow?" I joke, even though the answer is very sad.
He smirks in my direction, "Thanks red." He tells me, and I smile. A few minutes pass by of us taking notes on some of the books. "Oh, by the way red your going to a party on Saturday night." He casually throws out there.
