Recap:

"NO TUCKER! You just told me you'd MARRY me! Don't go!" I screamed, thrashing against the guy who was holding me. He didn't move an inch. I screamed in horror as I watched the ambulance guys put Tucker in a big white plastic back and zip it up. They laid him on a stretcher and started back up to the ambulance with him.

"TUCKER! TUCKER!" I screamed. The guy behind me was saying soothing things in my ear but I wasn't hearing them. They loaded Tuck onto the ambulance, into the back and slammed the door shut. I screamed one last time before blacking out...

The last thing I thought before the blackness consumed me was... 'I'm never going to see my Tucker again...'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up slowly, first trying to move, then once I was able to I tried opening my eyes. I could hear a faint beeping noise and whispering around me. I opened my eyes slowly and immediately scrunched them shut again, the bright white light in the room blinding me.

I opened them slowly, first squinting through my eyelashes, then opening my eyes fully. I realised I was in a hospital room. White and navy surrounded me. Navy blankets, white walls. I looked towards the door, seeing my dad outside, whispering to a doctor. I opened my mouth to try and call out to him, then realised... What's the point? I have nothing to say... Nothing at all. Unless... Tuck had survived... Tuck... I squinted back tears and took in a deep ragged breath. The beeping on the monitor beside me slowly increased.

No... I had seen Tuck... dead... He wasn't breathing... And the doctors had shocked him- so many... times... I drew in another deep breath to calm myself and that's when the doctor walked in, my dad trailing behind him, a worried look on his face.

"Ayesha? Darling! Are you feeling alright?" He asked worriedly, hurrying up to me and embracing me in a swift hug.

I opened my mouth to talk... then realised I couldn't. I struggled to get out a single word- a sound... But nothing would come out. I frowned. And then panicked. I couldn't talk!

"Ayesha honey... There's something we have to tell you..." The doctor started slowly, in what I think was supposed to be a soothing voice, it only freaked me out more... Knowing there was more bad news to come.

"You were severely scratched and cut from the crash and one of your cuts became infected. The infection spread and your voice box was affected, we tried surgery and antibiotics but nothing worked..."

I looked at my dad conveying my message with my eyes, he immediately knew what I meant.

"No hun, we don't think you'll be able to talk ever again, it was a serious infection, you could have died- it's lucky that it only spread to your larynx..." He looked at me sadly... And I was freaking out! Never ever able to talk again! What about my singing? I looked at my bedside table frantically searching for a pen and paper.

The doctor seemingly knowing what I was looking for handed me a pen from the pocket on his shirt and a small sheaf of yellow pages. I grabbed them and quickly scrawled.

'But what about the Final on the NTC?' What was I going to do? I couldn't sing without my voice! Singing meant so much to me! It was my LIFE.

My Dad read the page and a sad look crossed his features.
