Recap:
We drove home in silence and when we got home Dad went straight up to his office.
I followed him and tapped him on the shoulder. I looked at him questioningly, raising my eyebrows. He chuckled at my expression then answered me.
"I'm going on the internet to try and find you a new school- one that will take you even after you've been expelled from this one." He smiled and kissed me on the forehead before turning to go back upstairs.
I sighed and walked to my room. I didn't WANT to go back to school- ever again.

I spent a lot of time by myself in my room now... But I found this karate place downtown. I used to do karate years ago, up until I was fourteen, and I'd been pretty good- but I'd given it up when I met Tucker.
I'd taken up cheerleading instead, so I could go to his football matches and not be out of place.
I walked downtown the Tuesday after being expelled. It gets boring around the house. I walked in the door and I could see sensei Wu behind the desk. I walked up to the desk and Wu didn't look up, instead he just said.
"I'm sorry, we're closed- come back some other time."
I didn't say anything- I couldn't. So I just waited for him to look up.
He finally looked up- an irritated look on his face, and when he saw me standing there, his hard outer shell melted.
Wu may seem intimidating at times, but he's actually really nice. He has to be strict so he can train you properly, nobody is treated differently. This was the main reason I had come back to karate. People had been treating me different the last few weeks...
"Ayesha? Long time no see! Have you come back to fight? Yes, no? Answer me girl!" Wu chuckled and I grabbed a convenient pen and paper lying on his desk.
'Yes sensei, I've come back for training. It's good to see you again! I'm sorry- I've lost my voice, no speaking for me...' I handed the sheet to him and his narrow eyebrows rose slightly.
"But you had such a lovely singing voice- when did this happen?"
I took back the paper and scrawled my answer on it.
"Ah yes, I heard about that accident... I'm very sorry to hear about this- but it shouldn't affect your training!" He smiled warmly at me, obviously trying to make me feel better and I forced a smile back. My face muscles were sore from lack of use. It was hard to pull them into a smile, but I managed.
"So, are you to start training today? Or do you want me to book a day?" He asked coming out from behind the desk.
I mouthed the word 'today' and he smiled. "That is good, that is good- I see you have come in gear!"
I smiled again. It had taken me ages to find my old gear- and the top didn't even fit anymore, I'd had to buy a new one...
I smiled and threaded the silk belt through the holders of my new karate top. The shining black pleased me, I just hoped that I was still good enough to be considered a black belt...
