" JUST SHUT UP MUM! OKAY, I HAVE EVERY BLOODY RIGHT TO BE ANGRY!"
" DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO FIND YOUR HUSBAND CHEATING ON YOU WITH YOUR COUSIN? HUH DO YOU?" my mother screamed right back at me.
" NO OKAY I DON'T BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT! JUST CAUSE YOUR GETTING A DIVORCE DOESN'T MEAN WE HAVE TO LEAVE THE FREAKING CONTINENT!" I argued, voice bristling with so much fury I was shocked I had that much anger inside me
" MY HUSBAND LEFT ME!"
" YEAH WE'LL INCASE YOU HAVN'T NOTICED HE KIND OF JAY AND ME ASWELL, AND YOU KNOW WHAT? HE ISN'T EVEN YOUR HUSBAND ANY MORE CAUSE YOU'VE GOT A BIT OF PAPER BUT HE WILL ALWAYS, ALWAYS BE MY DAD AND THAT IS WHY I HATE HIM! NOT ENOUGH TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY I GREW UP IN!" my voice broke near the end making it sound like the tears I was holding back were about to come forth and do a show.
My mum went to open her mouth to respond when Jay came out of the living room in the aeroplane hotel and stood staring a us, obviously upset.
" Stop arguing,"
Mum's red face turned white in an instant when she heard the incessant quiver in my little brothers voice, she pivoted round on her heel and scooped him up in her arms and hugged him to her chest. I scoffed at the action and her perfectly peaceful face from when she was looking at my brother turned into a cold, hard glare at me. Ignoring mum completely I looked at Jay and asked him if he was okay.
" I don't like it when you argue" his voice barely above a whisper,
" I'm sorry hunny. Hey I need to go right now but when we get back we'll watch Doctor Who reruns okay?" I asked smiling sincerely
Jay smiled in response and nodded his head in agreement, moved away from my mum and jumped on me. I nearly fell back because of the squatting position I had assumed when talking to him.
"Woow steady there," I chuckled
"I love you Ambs"
"Love you too Jay but I really got to go I've got one more goodbye to say okay?"
"Yeah okay"
Once I had escaped Jays embrace I hunted for my beat up trainers and but them on before checking my reflection in the screen of my phone. Determined I looked half decent I set off to catch a bus to Buchanan Bus Station.
