Jihye's P.O.V

The next day I got to school, I didn't want to face Kihyun, but I had to get an explanation from him.

Lunch rolled around and I found Kihyun sitting at a table with his friends. He looked up and saw me but quickly looked away.

Something must be up. There's no way he'd try to avoid me.

I walked over to him and all of his friends looked up at me.

"Hi Jihye!" they chorused.

"Hey~" I greeted before tugging on Kihyun's blazer. "We need to talk."

To my surprise, he immediately got up and followed me to the roof.

"What happened to you last night?" I asked.

"I-I ran a little late," he stammered. "I arrived around 9:05."

"I didn't ask when you got there. I asked what happened to you."

"My mom... locked me in my room for hours and took my phone away," he replied hesitantly, looking down. "It wasn't until 9 when I finally got out."

I nodded, completely trusting his words. "What did you want to tell me last night?"

He gazed into my eyes and said, "Do I really have to say that now...? I wanted to save it for later."

"Okay, tell me whenever you're ready."

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For trusting and understanding me."

"It's what I should do. I shouldn't misunderstand you and start hating you just because you couldn't show up and didn't even inform me."

"Did you... cry because of me?" he asked, probably noticing my puffy eyes. "I'm sorry."

"I didn't cry, don't worry," I lied. "I left the park after you arrived though... Where were you?"

"I couldn't find you, so I tried looking around. My phone was dead so I couldn't really call or text you."

The sky was suddenly turning ominously dark as he spoke. Soon enough, dark clouds had covered the sky.

"I think there's going to be a storm today. I really hope there's no thunder," I said, considering Kihyun's fear of thunderstorms. He looked towards me again with a worrisome gaze.

"If a thunderstorm really breaks out tonight and I don't pick up my phone when you call, if you call, that means there's something wrong. If I don't call first, then there's something wrong," Kihyun said.

"What? What do you mean by 'there's something wrong'?"

"There's reasons behind my trauma of thunderstorms. I'll tell you some other time."

I was absorbing the information he just told me. What happened for him to be traumatized?

"We should head back now. It's almost time for class," Kihyun suggested.

The day went by pretty quickly, as usual. Kihyun and I started to walk home together, but this time, I was walking him home. He had insisted that he walked me home, but I needed to see where he lived in case of emergency. And no, I'm not a stalker. It just seemed like something would happen when he said that there was going to be 'something wrong'.

"Well, we're here," Kihyun said when we arrived at his house. It was actually down the street, a few blocks from my house.

"This feels really weird. Are you sure you don't want me to walk you back home?"
