{Name} carefully clipped the clothes onto the string that hung in front of her. the chores aren't hard, nor easy, just enough for her to say she is alive. there is no more pain every night, no more crying.
another slave walked over to her, he seemed concentrated. he has most likely been here for awhile now. it does seem too nice for anyone to run away, at least they get a place to stay in. although {Name} wants freedom it's easier to stay here than go out and runaway and be beaten to death.
"So Adrianna. How do you like it here?"
"Oh, hi. It's nice, better than any other place I've been to, or will be to."
"Ah yes, the General doesn't want a bad reputation with slaves. Well I just wanted to meet you and all, I work with the small farm back there and animals."
the fellow slave pointed towards a building and a small field of plants. it looked rather beautiful, very taken care of. just from the far view you can tell.
"Yes it is good to meet you. But do you mind telling me your name?"
"Aaron."

{Name} quickly hurried to the kitchen, grabbing two plates of food. the General had guests over, she wasn't told who but they were there. another slave Annie was with {Name} helping attend with food.
she took one last breath and walked inside the dining room, placing the food in front of some guest. the men and women settled down once their cravings were about to be accomplished. but once she placed down her second plate she noticed a man looking at her from the corner of her eye. taking a quick look it was Alexander Hamilton, her cheeks soon turned pink.
almost forgetting about her duties she ran back to the kitchen. she squished her cheeks to try to hide her blushing.
"I see you had your eye on Alexander."
"What do you mean, Annie?"
"You blushed when you saw him! Were you his slave before, did he like you?"
"No, I met him when he visited last. A day or two ago he sent me a letter."
"You can't fall in love with someone like him. It's too dangerous."
"You think I don't know that."
"Yes, but you are a slave. And
that's all you'll be known as."
Annie grabbed the next few plates that were ready. {Name} did the same, but waited until another plate was ready.
"Ladies you know you must serve, not talk."
"Yes, Aaron."
the girl spoke, soon leaving the kitchen. was this all their talk? a quick conversation while they work, while they are doing the dirty work in the rich.
{Name} grabbed her final plate and walked to the room filled of laughter. it caught her eye that Alexander didn't have his plate, she was serving him. she leaned towards him and placed the food down carefully.
"Meet me on the porch at seven."
the slave nodded and smiled, then running to the kitchen once again before anyone saw that they were planning something.
"Annie, cover for me. I'm going to talk to Mr.Hamilton."
"Wow, you have something going on."
"Ssshhh!"

once the grandfather clock called out seven times {Name} and Alexander left to the porch. Alexander said he needed to breathe for a moment, {Name} left through the back.
she lifted her dress up to walk up the stairs, her cheeks immediately turned pink.
"It's such a coincidence to see you here Miss {Name}."
"I'm surprised Mr.Hamilton, you must so busy at the parties you attend."
"Well, no need for formalities. Please I go by Alex. And I will make anytime to see you, your beauty attracts many."
"Well I do believe that is your opinion, I am just a slave."
"A slave like you should be free."

                                  -{•}-

her body shook as the snow hugged her. straight from summer to winter, for the past few years it's been snowing a lot. but slaves must continue to their work.
"Adrianna please take my jacket, you must freezing."
"I refuse, you must keep it. Without you we shall have no food or meals."
"Alright fine, fine. By the way what's your favorite drink and food?"
"Uh—Apple juice and peaches. Weirdo."
"Stop flirting and come in to clean the rooms. Aaron you must make the General's favorite."
"We weren't flirting, Annie."
"You weren't the one flirting, {Name}."
Annie mocked {Name} as she echoed her name. as they all entered the house the heat melted all the cold off. she loved this feeling, sadly this time could leave most of her new friends to sickness.
they live to love another day.

as she woke she felt a cold flake touch her nose. {Name} noticed her window was cracked, weird. but the light from the sun told her that it was still early in the morning.
moving out her bed she noticed a plate and drink on her desk
                     applejuice and peaches
