Dan sighed, staring into his camera with empty eyes, preparing his jumble of words that were sure to get lost before spilling from his mouth. "Hello, internet," he greeted with a fake faint smile, "I feel like everyone knows what today is, unfortunately... It's been sixteen years since Phil died. I'm... I'm very alone these days..."
Dan continued speaking as he ached, his heart pouring out to the internet in a fuck-I-miss-Phil kind of way; they were best friends, after all. There were lots of things he could recall [platonically] loving about Phil. For example, his dorky humor, his bubbly personality that outshined his own, his smile that craved to make a difference in the world, or even just his general jokes. However, one thing did stand out to Dan. There was one major indicationn of caring that Dan could never rid from his mind: Phil's acceptance. Phil accepted the strangest things, rather it be fashion sense, your favorite anime, what book genre you prefered, sexuality, etc.
Dan chuckled. Sexuality. You could identify as anything, something, or nothing. You could be gay, a lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, asexual, etc. Dan identified as something he didn't think anyone else did...
Mothromantic.
Moths really are beautiful creatures and Dan was afraid of them, just not for the reason he let off. He was so bloody petrified because he had fell in love with one. Ever since that one moth, Jeremy, took a liking to him, he couldn't brush the strong feeling that welled inside of him and refused to retreat. "Jeremy," Dan whispered longingly as he shut off his camera.
Suddenly on cue, as if he had heard his name, Jeremy fluttered onto Dan's shoulder as if saying 'You missed me, love?'
Dan chuckled, "I missed you. Would you like dinner?"
"Please," Jeremy said.
Dan went to his kitchen where he grabbed his earlier prepared nector and a slice of pizza for himself. He took the meals back to his room, placing the food before his beloved. As the two ate, Jeremy thanked Dan, "This is a lovely meal. Thank you, Dear."
Dan blushed, flustered as the moth gracefully finished. "O-Of course. Are you by any chance tired?"
"Yes."
Dan nodded and finished his food before fixing him and his spouse's bed, cautious to make it beautiful. Dan laid down, covering his body with his heavy duvet. "Come to bed," he murmured.
Moments later, Jeremy was by his side, snuggling into the giant seeming man. "Goodnight Dan. I love you," Jeremy cooed.
Dan murmured, half dazed as he was falling asleep, "I love you too."
The two embraced as they each fell into a swift sleep where they dreamed of each other.
