I arrived at the campgrounds, hoping no one would care that I was a little late. I parked my car in the large parking lot and stepped out onto the hot gravel.

There were RVs and tour buses everywhere, and there were dozens of bustling people hauling road cases and packing things into travel compartments. everyone looked busy and determined, but I had no idea where I was suppose to go or if I was even in the right place.

As I was lifting my suitcase out of the trunk of my car, I heard someone clear their throat behind me. I spun around to see a large man with salt and pepper hair wearing a visor and clutching a clipboard.

"Are you Alice?" he asked, glancing down at his clipboard. "Alice Briar?"

I nodded.

"I'm Dave." he said, holding out a large hand. I shook it.

"I'm a consultant for Monster Energy Drinks, so I'm basically going to be your boss this summer. Come on, I'll show you to the bus."

He led me through the parking lot, around RVs and buses till we reached a large black tour bus with the Monster Energy Drink logo plastered across the side.

"So this will basically be your home for the next several months." Dave said. "Feel free to go on in and pick a bunk. I've got some some work to do, so I'll meet you and the rest of the crew back here in two hours." he gestured toward the bus door and walked back through the maze of buses, clipboard in hand.

I climbed up the steps of the bus, dragging my suit case and purse behind me. I stepped up into a small living area complete with a few couches and a flat screen TV.

I looked down a small hallway where I heard voices, and I slid back a metal sliding door to reveal a large room with six bunk beds, large enough for twelve people.

A girl with chin length blonde hair and a tattoo sleeve was perched on top of one of the beds, and a tall man with short brown hair was putting sheets on the beds. They both looked like they were around my age, and they seemed surprised to see me.

"Oh. Um...hi." I muttered with a timid smile.

The girl glanced at a clipboard posted on the wall, one that was similar to Dave's.

"Alice, right?" she asked. I nodded.

She hopped down from her place on the top bunk and held out her hand. I shook it.

"I'm Regina. And this is Luke." the man behind her looked up and waved with a small smile.

"Pick a bunk." she said, returning to hers.

I sat down on a bottom bunk close to the door, and began unpacking my stuff. I looked up to see a no-alcohol sign on the wall, and gulped as I remembered the twelve pack of beer I had smuggled in my suitcase. I would have to keep it well hidden.

Several other employees began showing up, each quickly choosing a bunk and unpacking their things. Most of the other volunteers started making casual conversation with one another, and I assumed that they had been working on Warped Tour for a long time, since they all seemed to know each other so well.

Soon, Dave showed up and began listing off the do's and don'ts of life on the tour bus. we had a curfew of 11:00 everyday on tour, and alcohol and cigarettes weren't allowed in the bunk area.

Shortly after, we were off to Warped's first stop, and most of us employees had settled down for the night, including me.
