CHAPTER VI

Anna

I woke up complete disorientated. Not knowing where I was or how I got here. All I could make out was that I was in the forest, but I remember that we made it to Chesterfield. I was with Will and John and we met up at the tavern were we had supper and we spent the night.

I could even remember the morning, the pressure and my head. Now that I think about it I do feel better, but that still doesn't explain what happened. I look over and notice a small campfire. That's when the horror of the church in Chesterfield came to mind and I can't help but gasp out loud even though we clearly weren't there any more. I could still remember the rubble and the smell because it was clear that happened the night before because Daisy didn't even know about it.

I try to sit up and see that I was covered in blankets securely tucked in and I lay back down. The dizziness was back and I decided that maybe it was best if I keep still for a little longer.

"...she might be awake now..."

"...I hope John's right that I shouldn't have cut it..."

That made me relax even more because that's obviously Will on his way back.

"Hey I see your up, are you feeling any better?". Will wasn't even back to the fire before he started asking me these questions. I can't help the giggle because he is just such a sweetie.

"Yes I'm awake and I'm feeling much better, what happened?"

That's when John made it back to the clearing "Oh, your awake, how are you feeling?"

"Better thanks, I was just telling Will,  where are we and  how did we get here? What happened?"

They look at each other, seeing which one will explain it to me when John nods over to Will indicating that he should be the one that tells me.

"You remember Chesterfield right" I nod "and do you remember the tavern" again I nod "I remember everything up until the church" I whisper.

Will gets this solemn look on his face "Oh yes the church, well I was over talking to some kids asking about the church when I looked over and you were in John's arms. You must have fainted because you fell off your horse. That's when we decided to get away from Chesterfield. Obviously we had to disguise you because what would people think if they came upon two men with a unconscious girl".

"What do you mean disguise!", I remember the thought I 'heard' about cutting my hair and that has me flailing my arms about trying to feel what they did to my hair. My hair hasn't been cut in years and I've been using it to hide my eyes as well.

"Nothing really we just put your cloak on over your head and tied you to John's saddle and he was keeping you upright to look like you were riding together, luckily no-one saw us. We have to think of something better now that your awake".
