SO I JUST HAD A BREAK FROM WRITING FOR A BIT. MY BESTIE'S 3-MONTH OLD NEPHEW DIED AND SHE WAS HAVING A TOUGH TIME, HER WHOLE FAMILY ACTUALLY AND I'VE KNOWN THEM FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS WHICH KINDA MAKES ME FAMILY. THEY STILL WAITING ON THE CAUSE OF DEATH AND HER AUNT WAS DIAGNOSE WITH CANCER SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS ABSENT FOR AWHILE AND I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR READING. 

Chapter XXII

Anna

I couldn't believe my ears, Claire wants me to go up against king Malcolm and his army of soldiers. She wants me to go into the belly of the beast so to speak. I wasn't ready and never-mind being ready I couldn't do it, why would I even go and look for trouble. After her 'little' announcement the silence that followed was deafening. 

"What did you say?". Leave it to John to get his bearings first. "What are you talking about? Are you seriously saying that Anna has to go to Anderson, confront king Malcolm and then what? Vindicate him? What does that even mean? You haven't explain anything yet and you just expect Anna to listen to you and do what exactly Claire? What do you think Anna is going to be able to do against an army?".

John was very vocal and was basically shouting at the end of his tirade and to say that I was surprise was an understatement. Although I have to agree with him, just what does Claire mean?.

Claire was smiling indulgently at John and turns to me "You know what you have to do, when the time comes you'll know what to do".

"...what does she mean?..."

"...I don't know what Claire expect of me..."

I was thinking to myself and was surprise when I could hear Claire's voice inside my head.

"...I know what you can do Anna..."

"...together with Damien and John..."

"...you can defeat king Malcolm..."

She grabbed my hand then and looked at me and then at the two men.  "Can you give me a minute alone with Anna, I need to speak to her privately". Damien got up immediately and went outside, John however stayed seated. "I'm not leaving Anna alone with you". He was so hostile towards Claire and I really had no idea why.

"It's fine John, I'll be fine you can leave". I reassure him because I want to know what Claire had to say, why she couldn't just do the mind thing we've been doing. He begrudgingly got up, making sure to scrape the chair against the floor and followed Damien outside.

"Anna I know you have questions about being the vindicator, but there is something else that you need to know. Something you need to know before you go to Anderson and you cannot tell anyone else, not Damien and not John especially not John. What could she possible have to tell me and why couldn't I tell John?.

"If you give me a minute I'll tell you". I don't know why I keep forgetting that Claire can 'read' my thoughts and now that we are so close it seems that anything and everything I think she knows. 

"You have to hear me out please Anna, before you say or do anything you have to listen to me". I couldn't tell why Claire was behaving like this. "Of course Claire. I'll listen".

"You know that I'm the seer Anna, but that isn't all I am". So she has more than one power, that isn't really anything new. I couldn't stop sighing she was acting strangely and I couldn't understand what it was all about. "Do you remember when we first met, in the church?". I nodded and waited for her to continue. "Do you remember what John said?". I tried to think back about the first day I met Claire and about John, about what he said. I was drawing a blank all I remember really was that John was suspicious, but that has been every time he has anything to do with someone new.
