"I thought the snow was cold enough, but this place is really getting me chilled to the bone..."
You heard Sans laugh a bit beside you at your pun. The frosty wind remained to blow steadily as the both of you continued to carefully trudge on the land of Snowdin.
This kinda ruined your imagination when you read the sign "The happy village of Ice", cause the atmosphere around the area could not was more eerie than a haunted house during midnight. You could almost sense eyes watching your form from the shadows, but the feeling of Sans' hand holding yours so tightly made you relax a bit.
You walked a few more steps ahead when you noticed small dust particles being blown in the snow. Confused, you turned to Sans asked about it. It looked like he noticed it too, but his expression held a darker vibe. So you decided to disregard his response and remained quiet.
Just as both of you thought you were out of Snowdin, you heard faint footsteps coming from the distance.
You were about to turn when Sans suddenly grabbed you by the shoulders and dragged you to the side, directly diving behind a large oak tree off the side of the road you both were in.
He held you close, you chin just barely touching his skull. You would've blushed bright red right then and there if you hadn't remembered the situation.
The footsteps drew closer then a huffing sound soon became clearer. You noticed Sans' eye start to glow faintly, as if ready to strike at any given moment. You also prepared yourself for the worst.
Then the footsteps stopped, "SANS?!"
A woman's voice called out and Sans hold seemed to loosen up. Was it a friend he knew?
Sans looked at you, and as if reading your thoughts, he said, "Don't worry. I know her. She's... an acquaintance..."
You noticed that he said that last part quite hesitantly and with a bit of venom in his tone. You tried to move away for a bit but Sans' arm held you in place. He seemed to haven't notice yet, so you cleared my throat, "Uhm... Sans? You can let go of me now...?"
He looked at you, confused at first but then he quickly realized what was wrong and immediately pulled his arm away in a second. You could feel your face getting a bit hot but you forced yourself to calm down. Fortunately, the presence of another monster broke the awkward tension and you looked over at her.
A form with skin as blue as deep, blue ocean and golden eyes stared back at you both, the sign of relief then shock revealed within them. The fish woman held a defensive stance without a second to lose, her voice coming out more of a growl in your ears, "Sans... why is there another HUMAN here...?!"
Your heart sped up a bit under her murderous gaze, but one small nudge from the skeleton beside you eased the tension within. He didn't even flinch when the monster moved one threatening step forward.
"I wouldn't come any closer if I were you, Undyne.", instead, these words came out. Sans' right eye flashed a quick yellow before he went on, "She isn't the enemy your looking for."
The so called Undyne almost dripped a sweat, despite the freezing temperature. Before you know it, she yielded, abandoning her stance and stood straight. It surprises that she just did that. Perhaps it was out of respect for Sans?
Your eyes moved to the skeletal monster beside you, noticing that he had a neutral frown on his face. That kinda changed your mind. Perhaps it was out of fear instead?
Sans' eyes met your e/c ones as he looked up at you. You almost looked away because of the intensity they emitted for a second. It made your insides stir a little and forced down the blush from reaching your face.
