Your POV
I tiredly yawned and sat up in bed, rubbing my eyes. I looked down at my bland bedspread. I really disliked the color. It was plain grey and white, just like all the other beds in the room. I had three roommates: An eleven year old who watched over all of us, like a big sister. She had tan skin, brown curly hair, and brown eyes, with freckles dotted all over her cheeks. Her name was Rachel. There was also an eight year old with blonde hair and green eyes, named Phoebe. And there was also a girl my age with black hair and blue eyes, named Sage. Out of the four of us, I was always the first one awake. I enjoyed reading books before going to breakfast with the others. They seemed to be the only people who didn't mind my eyes. I personally thought my eyes looked really pretty, and I really like them. I slid off the bed and went to the bathroom. Brushing my teeth and hair, and getting dressed for the day. I went back into the main room and opened my bookbag, pulling out my favorite book. I haven't finished it yet, but I was close and I knew I was going to finish it today. I made sure I wouldn't wake up the other three as I left the room and went to the sitting room, picking up where I left off on my book.
Dan's POV
I groaned at Phil's attempts to wake me up. We had to get up early this morning because we were going to the orphanage today to adopt. We wanted to be there early and make sure we get the perfect kid. I managed to pull myself out of bed and get ready for the day. When I went into the kitchen I saw that Phil was already ready and had made us breakfast. I walked behind him, wrapping my arms around him and kissing his cheek.
"Morning Daniel." He said with a smile.
"You excited for today?"
"Why wouldn't I be? Dan, this is so exciting!"
"Sure is. So what are you thinking... You know, age wise?"
"I don't know. Maybe not too old, but maybe not too young."
"Well that's helpful." I joked. We started eating and continued talking about what kind of kid we would like to adopt. Phil wanted a kind kid, and I wanted a well-educated kid. And neither of us wanted an arrogant kid. Though one comfortable in front of a camera would be nice. After breakfast, we both put on our shoes, coats, and left the apartment after calling an uber. We knew we were leaving just the two of us, but we also knew that we were coming back with a son or daughter.
