Three
The man was absolutely gorgeous and jaw droppingly handsome Raelynn thought as she stood on the other side of the couch from him. He was a very tall man, giant compared to her but if he was who she thought he was then she understood why. Ashley was a tall girl and if this was the rebel brother she spoke of then it only made sense that he would tower over her even from ten feet away. From top to bottom he was a lady’s perfect fantasy. Short cut black hair, trimmed military style faded into sun tanned skin. His eyes were a dark blue unlike the bright blues of Ashley’s. His nose was straight but you could tell it’d been broken at least once before, his lips were a nice pink the lower one slightly fuller than the top on and finally Raelynn laid her eyes on his jaw. A square cut stubbled with five o’ clock shadow. Gorgeous. Out of observant habit Raelynn continued her looking and found he wore Marine Blues neat and tidy. Raelynn was sure that she was drooling at this point. Then her eyes landed on what she had accidentally put her hand on earlier.
Shower…Raelynn began blushing hard.
“My eyes are up here Hun.” Raelynn’s head snapped up to meet the man’s gaze and saw a mischievous intent there but when the man took a step forward, Chip’s growl caught Raelynn’s attention.
“Sit.” Raelynn said, her tone neutral. Chip sat perfectly straight immediately right where he was, eyes focused, ears down, body tense. She put her hand on his head and he whined softly relaxing his ears and leaning into her.
“So you must be the new best friend.” The man’s dark voice rang out but there was something more to it. Almost doubting and that made Raelynn’s chest puff up. He was accusing her of something, and she didn’t like it.
“Look Mr.-“
“Sebastian.” He corrected and she blushed. Raelynn didn’t use peoples first names unless they were close friends or family. It was a trait she had learned from her mother due to their Japanese heritage. It was a sign of intimacy to use someone’s first name and she wasn’t going to deem this man an intimate person. That seemed dangerous just from the tall, dark, rugged, handsomeness of him.
“Mr. Davidson.” Raelynn insisted, “I apologize for what happened a moment ago. Yes I am Ashley’s friend and she means quite a bit to me so please do not demean our friendship because of whatever issues you have.” She saw the little twitch in his eyes. He was apparently not used to someone standing up to him.
“Listen little g-“ he took a step and Raelynn took her hand off Chip. His immediate reaction was to stand and lift his lips up in a snarl giving the gorgeous man pause.
“Do not call me little.” Raelynn stated. She knew she was smaller than the average woman but she hated being called little. It was patronizing and she did not stand for that.
“Hunny, compared to me you are little.”
“Well Mr. Davidson as much as I’d love to continue to be insulted, I am just gunna take myself out of here, I’ll text Ashley later.” Raelynn said as she turned to leave she felt the air leave her lungs.
“RayRaaayyy!” Ashley had body slammed Raelynn and turned and Raelynn saw where they were falling. Right for the mahogany end table and the way Ashley hit Raelynn, Ashely was gunna hit her head on it.
“Crap.” Raelynn muttered and she heard Ashley’s brother call out in alarm. Raelynn may be a small female but she was strong. She made sure she was after what happened. So using that strength Raelynn put her body into the turn pushing Ashley away from the table and stuck her arm out. Both of their weights slammed to a halt and Raelynn felt the jar in her shoulder with a grunt.
“You caught me, hehe my prince.” She giggled and smiled at Raelynn. Raelynn laughed pulling them to stand up feeling the sharp pain in her shoulder.
“I thought I was your prince Ash?” Ashley froze looking at Raelynn with wide eyes that immediately began to tear up. Raelynn nodded and pointed and Ashley turned her head.
“Sebby!” she cried out and jumped into her brother’s arms. They embraced and Raelynn figured that this was a moment only for them.
“I missed you big brother!!!” Ashley cried.
“I missed you to Ash.” Raelynn began backing up and noticed Chip wagging his tail looking at Ashley. He loved her almost as much as he loved Raelynn. Raelynn gave a low whistle and Chip immediately turned and followed Raelynn towards the door. She just reached the door when Ashley called out.
“Raelynn where do you think you’re going?” Ashley called out. Raelynn froze and turned.
“I was gunna go…home to do…some…schoolwork?” Raelynn’s voice drifted off as Ashley gave her a death glare.
“No we are all going to dinner at the Diner so load up Chip.” Raelynn blinked and looked over to Ashley’s brother. He smirked then winked eat Raelynn.
Ass. Raelyn thought.
“But we can’t all fit in you car Ashley, it’s fined, you should spend some alone time with your brother since it’s been so long. You don’t need me tagging along.”
“Oh hush RayRay. You know you’re like family to me.” Ashley said petting Chip on the head. The young boy swooned, tail wagging and tongue dangling out of his mouth, looking up to me like he knew what was going on.
“Traitor.” Raelynn whispered.
“But you are right about my car.” Ashley murmured. Raelynn perked up.
“We can take my truck.” Raelynn deflated immediately. She wasn’t going to get away from this guy was she? Ashley clapped and started running out towards the garage, Chip in tow. Raelynn’s shoulders sunk as she sulked her way in that direction.
“Don’t look so glum sweetheart, your going to have to get used to me. I’m here for another three months minimum.” Raelynn groaned and tucked her head as she stomped her way to he garage. She heard the roar of an engine turn on and opened the garage door her jaw dropping. Beautiful.
